Very cool 9's, this maybe just what I need to make a quilt for my oldest sons girlfriend. I have several different pinks that she likes. Hmm could be her Christmas gift.
Yep...I’ve been on a “D9P” roll for a few months now. However...there is one GREAT tutorial that’s now missing. (or it’s been moved). It was connected to the AWESOME link that Betty posted, and it showed how to use novelty fabrics VERY creatively using the D9P technique. There was a photo error on the website's instructions and I wonder if she pulled it down to correct it. I have not seen it since.
Here’s what can be created with a little fussy cutting and novelty fabrics. This is a WIP (wall hanging) for a friend who brought back fabric for me from Hawaii. I made this with leftovers from the fabrics she gave me! It was really FUN to make and whipped up in no time at all!
Here's another D9P block I used in the corners of a quilt. Using batiks really gave it a very intricate look when in fact...it's a very quilter friendly block!
If I ever see that link again I promise to post it. There are also a few books out on D9P's but they are ALL out of print! Bummmmmer!!!!
The sky is the limit!
Have fun!
Poof*

Betty.. Thanks for posting those links! I have been alllllllll over the internet looking for more ideas on this block. Unfortunately...the BOOK I'm on the lust hunt for is out of print!
That's a serious disappointment!!!

I finally found it. Slice em & dice em quilts. I saw it when I took my class. Just too much info going into my brain and it takes it a while to come out. Anyway, this looked really cool. I will have to go back to my LQS (what a shame) and browse thru it.
LOL... I just just just bought that "Slice 'em" book off of Amazon (used) last weekend. There is another out of print book called "The Disappearing 9 Patch" and that's a bit harder to find...but...we will get it EVENTUALLY.
Half the fun of owning it...is...the HUNT to FIND IT!!
