Kerstin! ARRRRRGH! Between you and Gerda, we are all going to have to German, Dutch, and now French?!?!?! LOL Big Grin It's a good thing Hungary doesn't have a quilting tradition, or I might have to post one in Magyar! LOL Razz Oh, wait, I did find a site from Budapest some time ago- now where did I put that address? LOL Just teasing. You know if this keeps up we may all end up multi-lingual. Wouldn't that be a hoot? Not able to carry on a conversation, but can say needle and thread, rotary cutter, & fat quarter in 26 different languages! hehehehehe

Well....NOW you can speak some FRENCH! Here's a web translator! I set it (from the drop down arrow to go from French to English) but I'm not sure the link will open like that (but it should) If it defaults back to the main page just click the drop down arrow..scroll down...and pick the translation option of French to English. I love the quilted things on the link. Really unique projects.

French to English Translation

IF IF IF someone sees a project on your website they just love...you can actually put in phrases and it will translate them out for you. HOW FUN IS THIS? I've used this site before that's how I knew to find it! Years ago I used to play online chess with a German girl...and she would often type in things in German... so... I'd translate it. After awhile I just switched it to writing English to German and just posting that way. It was REALLY REALLY FUN and challenging...lolol

This is reaally funny! If you open up Cookies " Blog with Free Patterns" link ck out the "Un Sac Lampion" (top of page) it's a tote bag that opens up to look like a Chinese lantern...lolol This link is heavy with graphics so (walk away)...give it several minutes to load up. It's well WORTH the tour...lol

Some of her projects are bizarre, but fun! Peek at the directions...and yes...you can translate them into sentences with the translator link I provided.

Hehe.....

Kerstin, thanks! I hope we will have high speed internet by next weekend, then I will check it out thoroughly!

Felicia, thanks for the link. I can figure out a bit of French (took it in school from Grade 7-12), but my memory's quite rusty. I should have taken German, would have aced that, I think! My friend who is also Dutch, chose German, and did really well. Oh, well, that's water under the bridge. I do use a Dutch/English dictionary I found online when I need to know a word. My Dutch is quite good, but I sometimes run across a word I don't know.

Now if only I could find my ROTARY CUTTER!!I packed it SOMEWHERE!!! but not with my sewing machine - DOH!! I am currently sewing on the dining room table, but how can I cut out my BOMs without my cutter??!!?? I ask ya! GRRRRRR! Oh, well, maybe next week.

Gerda..
I took a few years of French too, but that was many MOONS AGO! We used 45 records and had to parrot the phrases back like little zombies...lolol I love those conversion links...they help SO MUCH!

LOST YOUR ROTARY CUTTER??? Eek Noooooo!! Eek That's not good!! Sitting on a lost pin on the couch is bad enough...but finding that little jewell the hard way might be wayyyyyyy baddddd!!! How did you do that??...lol Oh...did you just move? I think I remember reading that comment somewhere? That's understandable then. Quick... go buy another one...lol

Hey, I can actually read some of that..haven't had French class in 20 years! I like the "Sac Patchwork"....may have to try one! Gonna have to figure out how you line it and sew the side seams....I am never good at going from 2d to 3d!

I think that Chinese lantern sac would be SO CUTE sewn up in Halloween fabrics and used as "trick-o-treat" bags for little kids!

Linda..
You're very welcome!

It could be used for any number of holidays, Felicia. Great idea! How about in Christmas fabrics for those awkward-shaped gifts that are so difficult to wrap? Or for a charming little Easter bag for a little girl to match her Easter dress? Or to hold a bottle of Asti Spumonte for your special Valentine?
