Meg
I don't have a pattern either, Gerda had posted a site for someone wanting an oriental pattern & I decided this one would work well for the prints I have for hubby a fire fighter type quilt. The quilt is called "Oriental Elegance" from the September 2007 - The Quilter. Scroll down to quilt #10 I believe it is, here is the site: http://www.thequiltermag.com/issues/sept07.shtml The block is 13" finished so I am just assuming the strips are 6 1/2" x 12 1/2" unfinished then a 6 1/2" square block, with a 1 1/2" strip connecting them for a 13" block. The sashing looks a bit wider 2 1/2" maybe. You know maybe it is the same quilt!!! Great minds!!! Happy Quilting! Bama Deb ~ Sweet Home AL I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you. That's the one Deb! Yes, GMDTA! lol From studying the picture it looks as though they have used several FQ's and cut a rectangle and 2 squares. I don't know if all my fabrics are large enough to do this, but I will cobble up something. Mine will be larger, as it is for a queen-sized mattress.

Ya'll are going to love this! My hubby has also picked this one to be his first quilt! I ordered the pattern for him yesterday. I can't eyeball it like you two, so I better have some instructions. It's funny because I had already been considering this on myself. I guess I got him trained right!

Jenell {in grade school my daughters best friend was named Jenell and I haven't heard the name since} isn't great when the man in our life actually takes a interest in what we love.
Beautiful choice. dee we could learn something from a box of crayolas.....all the colors get along. |

Meg you are right on the bias tape I have done a stain glass quilt using it and it was tricky. The jar quilt appealed to me for all the reasons you mentioned. Yep on the never ending list of quilts I would like to do.

Pat I fell in love with Utah the very first time I ever went there. My goal is to move to cedar city-love the whole small town feel and I have already spoken to a lady that belongs to a little quilting club and invited me to come visit. My dream of moving there is what keeps me sane somedays. I call it gods country!
