Ok...I couldn't resist. I put a wild border on it. This is going to be a wall hanging, and I think I'm going to hand sew some shells on it. hehe... She said she liked bright, and whimsical.

Felicia,

I didn't explain well enough. I have the blocks all sew, cut, swapped and sewn again. The blocks are finished. It is the sewing of the blocks together into the rews and the rews together that has been slow for me. I know how to do it, it is just taking me a long time to finish. Sorry about the confusion.

Vicky...
No apology necessary!! I just felt bad if you were struggling. I meant to post that page photo anyhow (because the tutorial link won't open anymore). Mad I wanted people to see the placement of the novelty fabric to get them meeting in the block center. I NEVER get any quilt finished in a couple days. I tend to putter on them. It's my nature...

Melita..
Thanks! It was fun, and so fast! The bright colors are sooo out of the norm for me. I tend to mostly do earth tone projects (except on baby blankets).

I have never seen this pattern before. Oh boy, here I go again. I think I have to do this and I have just the fabric! The pictures shown are great. Kirsten, I love the colors in yours and the background really lets the leaf pattern shine! This is also a great pattern to show off a cute print like the fish! What great ideas. Thanks for sharing.

Felicia,
Love those kissing fishies. And the border is perfect. If she doesn't like it, you can send it my way. Big Grin I got back my blocks from the Black, White, and Bright swap and just couldn't wait. I had to go ahead and cut them and resew them and I just love how they came out. I'll try to remember to lay them out in rows tomorrow and get a photo of the and then post it. I have 30 blocks but if I make it the size I want it, I need to make 40 more blocks. I have the fabric, it's just finding the time. Confused I love this block and how it turns out.

As for Nancy Daniel's book, I bought it two weeks ago at Joann's so if it's out of print, it's not been out long. You may still be able to find it.

I confused myself! The Disappearing 9-patch and Split 9-patch are two different animals.

I think this is a Split 9-Patch -- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v66/AuntiePam/Quilts/CIMG0490.jpg

There's no cutting of the block. It's just a 9-patch with lights on one side and darks on the other side. It's also made with a light/dark HST as the center block, which I didn't do with this one -- but I'll do with the next one.

AuntiePam,

I love your quilt. I love bright colors, so the white just makes it beautiful.
