This pattern is almost identical to the Straits of Georgia block I've been making for my step-son's wedding gift. Only it's done piece by piece to get the same look...dang, wish I'd see this first! Would have gone sooooo much quicker!

Don't you just HATE THAT? The D9P goes sooo fast! I have a few more decent sized lap warmers I want to make before Christmas and now I'm not too worried about it because if I use 10-12" blocks to make the first step ( the plain 9 patch) they will go fast! I have been dragging around this piece of fabric for years because I love it so much I don't know which quilt block is worthy of it....lol I just have this feeling as soon as I cut it up for something an even BETTER IDEA will show up.
