No, Mary, it does take a long time. DH has had to do this a few times - either due to crashes or upgrading, and it takes him a few days. No quick way for it to be done. FlaDeb, from what I've read here over the last few months, you seem the type to grab the bull by the horns and go for it, (and succeed), so I'm not surprised you picked the one you did. It's a lovely one, and I look forward to seeing the finished block. WTG!! Gerda

Thanks for all the nice comments makes a girl feel special!! I finished the block!!!! But AHHHHHHHHHHH and AHHHHHH and GRRRRRRRR and double GRRRRRRRRRRRRR Its the wrong size! I have no idea what I did wrong... it is 6" instead of 6.5... The templates printed the right size and everything.... I thought by hand piecing it would definatly be the right size... GRRRRRRRRR I have no idea how it turned out wrong or even what to do to fix it!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH And there are 140 blocks to do !!!!! And what even makes me mader is that I used my good quilt store fabric!!! and now its useless.... sigh... Ok I'm going now, just had to vent, no one else would understand! Oh I attached a pic... Not for the album though coz its wrong! AHHHHHH Deb.

FlaDeb, did you set your printer scale to "None"? That is what it should be set for. I printed it out at Fit to Page and None, and measured the pieces. "None" came out to 6" +1/2" seam allowance to be added. I just measured from dotted line to dotted line in each piece, following the piecing diagram for the right sides to measure. Make sure when printing PDF files with pattern pieces, to set scaling to none. Most sites will tell you that. The page I printed at Fit to Page came out smaller, finished size was 5 1/2". If yours is off, you could add 3/4" strips all around of the background fabric. No one but you would know. BTW what a wonderful job you did! WOW! Beautiful!!

PS: Deb, "E" should be 1 1/4" from long side (all lines I write are the dotted ones) to tip of angle opposite, short side of "F" is 1 3/4", edge of "A" (I measured where the grain line indicator line is) is 1 3/4", and diagonal of "C" is 1 1/4". These are the FINISHED sizes, OK? When you add those, you get 6" (Finished) Add your outside seam allowances and it would be 6 1/2". Just measure your printed out pattern that you used, that will tell you. Gerda

I just had a thought, when I machine sew I dont sew exactly on the 1/4 inch line a little less is what I sew, then once pressed its the right size.... maybe I need to hand stitch a little bit on the other side of the 1/4 inch mark... Makes sence to me.... Ok I'm off to try that.... I am going to make this block if it takes me a week! Deb.

Hmmm, now you've got me stumped. Templates right, seam allowances accurate, what could it be???? Anybody else have an idea to help out here? Please? Don't like to see Deb down about this! Gerda
