Good job, Julia! Wish I could see more detail though. You are going to town on these. I'm afraid it's going to be a couple weeks or more before I can get back to working on some.

Great blocks Julia. You're going to have a wonderful quilt.

Everyone
Thank you for all your compliments. Fall colors are my favorite. All redheads love fall colors.. but still I have a small leaning for blues too...
Got four more done tonight and hopefully get them posted on saturday.
I have to pull a double tomorrow and it will take all i have to get home safe tomorrow..
Again thanks

Hello everyone! I have spent the afternoon browsing all of your blocks and postings before I start on this. They are all so beautiful and unique!!

To tell you the truth, I am a bit scared to get started! I am afraid all of my blocks will come out the wrong size! Frown Mom (Connie) said I should try this out and Mary was so supportive, I am about to jump in head first, I guess. Hubby went with me to pick out some fabrics last night (would love to be able to use scraps, but I haven't any yet!). We got them all prewashed last night and I have made sure that my steam on my iron is off, before I begin. So here I go... to start my first pieced block, EVER! Wish me luck.

Yay, Jess!!! Go for it! You'll have fun! And don't worry, the stash will come - oh, boy, will it!!! I'm happy your hubby is so supportive - wow, going with you! I try not to drag mine to the quilt shops (although when we were on a few days vacation in southern British Columbia this past June, he came into 2 shops with me, and admired an outdoorsy quilt on the wall - he let me buy the kit! So guess what's next on my list, after my granddaughter's quilt?) though I willingly go to every tool/parts/automotive/lumber yard he goes to or needs ME to go to (I'm a good gofer after nearly 33 years!! SmileSmile)

Your mom and all of us here are really good at advice and encouragement, so any questions, let 'em rip!!

I look forward to seeing your first blocks. Just remember to pin and press as you go! Smile

Please come and join us. The blocks are simple and fast. I have only found one block so far that was not a true 6" but it was very easy to fix.
We had a quilt show here in my area a few months back and I just went crazy with the local stores that were selling fat quarters. ( My favorite ) Anyway i bought a ton of fall colors and so here is how my sylvia bridal sampler started..
Again please come join us
