This officer was a 20 year veteran of the Dallas Police Department, father of 4 children, and highly decorated with 138 commendations to his name, many for saving lives. He had only been on the motorcycle detail for about a month, and this was his second motorcade escort, having escorted Obama on his visit last week.

His wife is beside herself with grief. He was the coach of his 9 yr old son's soccer team, and apparently the two were extremely close. His other 3 children are grown and out of the house, but I'm sure this is no easier for them. The police chief stated that this family was very close knit, and that Senior Cpl. Victor Lozada-Tiada was the kind of officer that got up extra early that morning to make sure he had an impeccably clean and perfect uniform and bike, to make sure that he left the best possible impression of the Dallas PD on the senator and her staff that he could.

I've never been even remotely fond of Hillary Clinton, and yesterday she scored no points with me for her behavior in light of the death of this officer while escorting her. I find it very cold that this accident happened on the way to her rally in Dallas, and not a single person in her entourage felt compelled to inform her or anyone at the rally that this accident had taken place until after it was completed. She did go to Fort Worth and cancel her planned rally there after hearing about it, but only so she could take the PR opportunity to go to the hospital for all of 10 minutes before hopping on a plane to Ohio. I just found it really heartless on the part of her and her staff.

Anyway, I know this widow and her children could really use your prayers as they try to cope with the terrible loss. This strikes close to home for me, as this is the kind of job my DH does as a police officer in the AF when generals and such arrive here on base. He guards the flightline, planes, and dignitaries when they touch down here from time to time.Officer Killed during Clinton Motorcade

Oh yes my heart goes out to this family after such a great lose of their dear loved one, it just makes you so sad whenever I read or hear about a fallen officer or anyone who give their life to make us safe, so my prayers go out to the family and all who knew him. God Bless!
BTW I did see her interview but did not know that it was so after the fact, not good.

Any time a first responder falls, whatever the circumstances, it is a sad day. The article didn't touch on how he came to hit the curb. This is especially tragic, since it sounds rather innocous at first. Were they traveling at a high rate of speed? Was he trying to avoid hitting something else? Very sad regardless. My thoughts are with the family.

My prayers go out for this family who have obviously lost someone they loved and were rightly proud of.

It seems to be unclear just yet how or what caused the accident. It is still under investigation and they have not released any more details to the public as of the news this morning. It appears he hit a curb, but we don't know why. He was behind Clinton's car in the motorcade, towards the end of it, but before the press busses, as passengers on those busses witnessed medical responders on the scene by the time they got up to the accident. Hopefully we will know more soon.
