Hi all. I have tried for 2 days to reach Betty, without power I know home phones won't work, but am having trouble getting thru on cells too, probably due to towers being out or damaged. I know she and all are fine though. She'll be back real soon.. Just glad the storm is gone and wasn't quite as bad as predicted. They've gotten LOTS of rain tho..We got a good taste of it last nite and today is still rainy and very cool.. Thanks for all your prayers.

Jean

Banana Just talked with Betty (12:30 CDT) they are home for the time being..They are fine. It's stopped raining..They have no power, but using their generator, they have enuff gas til morning BUT all stations are out, those that have it, have no power, so can't pump!! They're hoping to get some later today.

They're predicting if the sun comes out, then look out for tornadoes!! When it comes to these storms, there's just no out guessing them.

So keep them in your thoughts, hopefully she'll be back soon..

Oh that is great news! I heard we had some people in shelters here. Next time she can just come stay with us so we won't have to worry about her so much! AND I have 2 machines now so she wouldn't miss a beat. Wink

I'm just glad to know she is okay! Big Grin

Jean, thanks so much for letting us know that Betty is home and allright for now. Smile I hope she gets power again soon. I know she waited in line to get all the gas she could get before the storm hit. I will continue to pray for safety for her and all those in her area.

It is sure good to hear that things are on it's way to getting them back to normal, I know that we had a lot of visitors who left and came here and thankful that everyone at least heeded to the warning to leave. Hopefully they will get things back to going for everyone soon.

Cheer Cheer I'M BACK! Not smelling real good but the hot water is being heated and when it does John and I will be racing for the shower! lol I tell you if I have to eat one more sandwhich or Beanie Weinies I'm going to choke! lol

We are here and no damage to any of our friends and family. Some were not as fortunate! The worse thing that happened to us was 2 trees fell on my daughters pool but not damage except a small dent.

It was really bad with sustained winds of 60 mph and 80 mph gusts. We all went to stay with friends that have no trees around their home. It was a frightening thing to watch. You would look out their back patio to the pool which was only a 10 steps and you couldn't see it the wind was blowing so hard.

Later CLECO which is the electric company that supplies Alexandria, Pineville and surrounding parishes gave us a schedule to our having our power back. They had 100% without power after the storm cleared and they could assess the damage. The schedule was 80% by Sunday and 100% by Tuesday! They said the Tioga where I live looked like a war zone and it took all they had to rebuilt every area. It wasn't just repairing lines but replacing poles and rebuilding the circuits! So they have been working around the clock for us.

I've been through many many hurricanes that names have been retired but this one was something. I pray that Ike stays away as my area can not take another hit. My own property the ground is so soggy that it wouldn't take much to take about 4-5 trees out. Then I'd been in trouble.

Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes, I felt them.
Hugs,
Betty
