And not as a student! She had come down over the weekend for an eye appointment. Had been complaining about a pain in her leg. Apparently last night it got so bad that my sister took her to the hospital.
An x-ray showed nothing abnormal. Don't know what other tests have been done. My sister was rather sleep deprived when she called so she was sketchy on the details. If the big storm that hit Chicago last night fizzles out, we will try to go over this evening. Otherwise, I will go tomorrow. In the meantime, please keep her in your thoughts. Well, I just got word. They have moved my mother to the CCU. They still don't know what is wrong with her leg, but have decided that her lifelong heart murmer that has never been any bother for the previous 90 years suddenly needs to be monitored and fixed ASAP. This sounds like a case of a good offense being a good defense. Or maybe a medical shell game. I can just imagine my mother's blood pressure has risen several points today. She does not suffer fools silently. I am sure she justs wants them to fix the problem with her leg and leave the rest of her alone.
