Yesterday my neighbor's daughter was riding a motor scooter. She lost control, dumped it over and when she fell, her shoulder hit the edge of the pavement. Her shoulder is badly broken. She'll be having surgery next Tuesday to put in a plate. If the bone doesn't heal, then she'll have to have a shoulder replacement. They hesitate to do the replacement because she'll have limited range of motion. She's 37 years old and has two little ones - a 9 year old and a nearly 7 year old.

Please pray for a complete healing for Shannon and for peace of mind for her Mom. Her Mom is blaming herself because she told her daughter to take the scooter and go with her Dad to town.

Oh Nola of course prayers for healing will go up, bless her heart she really doesn't need to have restrictions at that age with a young family.

Just found out more details about her accident and surgery. When she fell, she put out her left arm to catch herself and the impact jammed her arm up into the shoulder joint causing an impaction. Part of the ball that fits into the joint is broken off. They will be putting the ball back together with plates and screws - but if the bone doesn't knit back together and dies, she will have a partial ball joint replacement.

This is the kind of break elderly people often have and the replacement joint severely limts the range of movement. In the elderly this isn't so bad but for a younger person trying to raise a family, it would be quite difficult.

Of course I will send prayers. this sounds very painful. poor thing, to have such young children and think about surgeries and such. Hoping prayers and thoughts will somehow help the situation at hand.
