Hello, my name is Martine and I am a Dutch quilter.
I like to meet quilters from other countries and think that this is the right place to do so.
My english is not very well but I hope you understand it.

Meg, pig latin??!!?? Smile "free fell" - girlfriend, you made me laugh!

Martine, van harte welkom!!! I'm the Dutch lady Meg was talking about. I was born in Dordrecht in '53 and came to Canada a year later with my parents. I married a Dutch man (who had emigrated to Canada), and have kept up my Dutch over the years.

It's so good to see you here - as Meg said, we are international. Mary is in South Africa, Kerstin in Germany, Jacqui, Milica and Kim in the UK, and several from Australia, and LOTS from America. We have a few Canadian ladies here too. I hope you join in on our fun and swaps, and we love to give advice when needed, a shoulder to cry on, and LOTS OF LAUGHTER!!! do you have children? Pets? HOw long have you been quilting? Do you know Ria Lanser's site? It's called Grandma's Kitchen, and she has free quilt patterns and cross stitch patterns. There is so much out there.

Well, I must go and make supper. Again, welcome to the forum.

Gerda

Welcome to BC, Martine!

I have only been on the forum since January and I feel I have made many, many good friends. Everyone is so friendly and helpfull here!

I have been quilting only about three years and have learned so much reading the tips and following the links here. Smile

I hope you have as much fun as I am getting to meet everyone here.

How long have you been quilting and what type of quilts do you like to make?

Looking forward to getting to know you better, Smile Pat

Thanks for your warm welcome.
Some more about me.
I'm 61 years young , married and we have three adult children. One boy and two girls.
We live in the west part of Holland near to the Hague and Amsterdam.
I'm a quilter for many many years but I also like cross stitching and knitting so it takes a long time before something is finished.
I like traditional quilts and applique is my favourite thing to do.
I collect reproduction fabrics and feedsack fabrics and mostly I order them from ebay from my favourite sellers.
I have a weblog but it's in Dutch.
Maybe you like it.
There are also pictures on it from work in progress and some finished quilts.
And Gerda, I know the site from Ria Lanser.
Every day she shows a new pattern for a quilt or cross stitching to download. It's great.
This was a long story and in European time it's very late already. Sleep Sleep
I'll visite you soon.
Greetings Martine
