My name is Rachael, and I live in Massachusetts. I'm just starting to quilt, and I love it! I'm currently making a quilt out of my 1.5 year old daughter's baby clothes. Here's a sample of it so far:
Actually, all 35 blocks have been finished as of last night. Anyway, that's me!
a warm dixie welcome, rachael! hope you enjoy it here at BC. we have a lot of fun here sharing quilting and just life in general. so pull up a chair, get your tea glass filled and make yourself comfortable . . . if you feel so inclined, check out the many swaps we have going on. also, there is a trivia game in the chat room on friday evenings at 6 p.m. central. nawma is a fantastic hostess - we have a lot of fun at the trivia games - why, we even manage to learn a little quilting trivia!!

Hello Rachel, That is a pretty quilt you are making. And welcome to the BC. What part of MA do you live? We used to live at Ft. Devens before it was closed. My in-laws live up there too around Acton. Trina

Trina - we live in Leominster, which isn't too far from Acton or Devens - they took out the Ft, and they're building up a really nice community there now. They've done such a great job with the landscape, and they have a hotel/conference center. Not sure how long it's been since you've been there, but it's so nice. We go to Mirror Lake quite often to swim, actually.
I know there were two lakes. I am trying to remember which was which. Been so long ago. Nearly 15 years ago,in fact. There is one lake that I took my daughter to to feed the Canada geese. Devens was one of our favorite assignments. I am glad to hear that Devens is being turned into a lovely place. Been a while since we have been back. You just brought back home for me. Trina

I only know of the one lake - it's the first street on the right about half a mile after you get off the exit - I think you pass a cemetary and medical center. They also have a fantastic golf course (so I've heard). It is a very lovely place. Actually, here is a pic of my daughter at Mirror lake last year (I guess we haven't taken any pics there this year)
Rachael, what a lovely idea. The quilt will be a wonderful rememberance for her when she becomes an adult. You did a great job. Be sure and let us see it after it's quilted!

Welcone tBC you will find it is a warm and loving place here. You have such an awesome idea to make a quilt from your babies clothes this is triple duty wear them and then for comfort and warmth but also a keepsake when she is grown. WOW. She is just adorable and I wish that were me soaking my toes in the local river here in our 3 digit weather!
