Hi I'm Melita from Perth, Western Australia. I stumbled into this site while looking for Red Work patterns and I'm still not sure how I got here! A lucky find.
I've been quilting on and off for 20 years but my completion level is pretty low. I seem to have a ton of UFOs' I'm currently working on a Bargello quilt for my cousin's 50th birthday. Unfortunately Noelle's 50th was last Christmas, so it now looks like it will be for her 51st instead! I blame my sister, who on hearing that I was making our cousin a quilt somewhat spat the dummy (I'm not sure how that translates - a 'dummy' is baby pacifier), and demanded to know when SHE was getting HER quilt? So being the good sister that I am, I put aside my work and made a quilt for HER. Talk about pressure sewing! I love her dearly. Needless to say I ran out of steam, and put the dreaded Bargello aside. I requires more concentration than I seem to be capable of at the moment. I'm hoping this blog will just the inspiration I need to get back on track! alt="Click for Perth, Western Australia Forecast" height=50 width=150>"From little things big things grow..." Paul Kelly |

Hi, Melita,
to BC ... where you will find lots of happy quilters who will inspire and help keep you happily quilting away 'course we all might add to your pile of WIP's There are even a few quilters who love to do redwork ... and a few from Australia ... who will likely be along in a bit to welcome you themselves. I have only been on the boards a few months but I have made many good friends. Look around and if you see a discussion or a swap that appeals to you, just jump right in! |

Hi Melita! Welcome from Oklahoma! I think you will fit right in here! Lol I have 4 in progress now. The ones for my sister and mother had to go on the back burner when my son announced he was going to be a Daddy. So baby quilts take priority.

Thank you for your welcome Pat & Jennell.
I think I'm in trouble already! I've signed up for 3 Jar Swap Blocks...better to start small. And Jennell's family's hanky quilt at a Frog in a Quilt has reminded me of a family quilt I want to organize for our family. We have a huge family picnic on Australia Day, January 26th, where about 100 of us gather to celebrate the Nation. It's a captive audience! Oh dear...oh dear...oh dear. I think I'm going to be busy. alt="Click for Perth, Western Australia Forecast" height=50 width=150>"From little things big things grow..." Paul Kelly |
