Hi!
My name is Ruth and I am from Sugar Land Texas (SW suburb of Houston).

I have been back to quilting for the last couple of years. Took about 15 years off since I first started....Way back when, I made a lot of appliqued baby quilts.

Now, I like intricate patterns. I am currently working on the Baltimore Album BOM from fatcatpatterns since I wanted something I could do by hand rather than machine piecing. It's been interesting since there are not a lot of instructions! I have the first two blocks completed.

I am also working on a Mystery quilt pattern called The Cat's Meow: http://www.debbiescreativemoments.com/free-patterns.html

I have all the pieces put together and am doing machine quilting. I hope to be done with it by summer for my second daughter.

My goal has been to do one quilt at a time, but with starting the BOM, I have two going currently. But at least one is machine quilting and the other is hand applique!

I am glad I have found this forum and hope to learn and contribute!

Ruth

Ruth! Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you found your way here. There is lots to see and do here - we have Trivia night on Fridays at 6PM Central (that's you, I think!) in the Chat Room. We have so much fun, and learn a bit, too. Swaps have slowed down a bit, but there's usually someone starting one up.

I am saving the FatCats pattern too - it is so gorgeous!!! Hopefully later this year I can start on it. I'd love to see pics of your blocks - did you use the same colours she did?

See ya around!! Smile

Yes, I am using the same colors. I will upload the first block to my gallery. I can't seem to get PhotoBucket to upload the second one.....

I have two leather recliners that I got used from my brother that I am trying to match with the lighter blue color in her color scheme. Right now nothing else I have matches those chairs, but they are the most comfortable ones we have! I love to sit and read in them!
