Hi all, I just joined this group yesterday and want to introduce myself. I'm a long time quilter living in the mountains of E TN, north of Knoxville, with my hubby, 3 dogs, and about a dozen or so chickens. I'm a retired RN and Howard will be retiring in January. This is a second marriage for both of us as we both lost our spouses very unexpectedly and tragically. I have 12 grandkids of my own and he has 19 and 4 greats. That's a lot of quilts to get made. I love to teach and share quilting with others and love to get beginners hooked on my passion, quilting.

That's 31 grandchildren! No fair! Stop hogging them all! I don't even have 1! I have two grand-rats, though. Seriously! My DIL is a vet tech and she fosters rats. They don't even have opposible thumbs. Now I ask you, how am I supposed to teach them to quilt? But that's a another story and I digress.

Welcome to the forum, Barb. We are a lively bunch here, lots of talent and a willingness to share. Jump right in.

I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.

Hi Barb, and welcome to the forum - just join right in and have fun Smile How far north of Knoxville are you? - I have a friend in the mountains but she's nearer to Johnson City and just over the border into NC. The mountains are beautiful - saw them in the fall and couldn't stop taking photos.

Maybe when I come up to Nashville to met Mary you could work something out to meet up too?

There are several other TN ladies and a couple from the AL area also that it might work out so we could all meet.

Mary, I'm about 35 to 40 miles directly north of Knoxville, just off I-75. We're about 2 hours west of Johnson City. That's a pretty area too.

Deb, Meeting in Nashville might work. I'm about 4 hours away but my mom and brother both live very close to Nashville and I go to visit them often. Also, my DH's sister just moved there from Huntsville, AL. They are in Mount Juliet. Mom is in Gallatin, and brother is in Lebanon. That's the area we are planning on moving to whenever our house sells.
