Hi all! My name is Beatrice and I live in northwestern Pa. I am 62 retired due to liver disease.
I lived in Lancaster, Pa. until a few years ago. I really miss it! Quilting is what keeps me going. Right now I am working on a quilt for the Man of the Year in Washington, DC for the benefit of childrens Leukemia & Lymphona Society.
The children are coloring the blocks as we speak. I can't wait to get them back and see all the artwork. The quilt will be auctioned off in June.
I am also working on CQ victorian boxes for my granddaughters for Christmas, A 12 days of Christmas row quilt, & a CQ pillow cover.
I just finished a pin cushion swap and have no idea what I will do with 12 pin cushions! But, it was fun doing it.
I'm enjoying reading what keeps all of you busy. Someone posted this site and after dropping by I just had to join!
You are a busy lady and you must be a most accomplished quilter.
I am 55 but I have only been quilting for real for about three years.
I have to ask you ... what does "CQ" mean? I know it means "Correct" in writer's annotation and "Come Quickly" to Meg's Coast Guard son, but I don't think either of those could be applied to quilting, Pat

Thanks for the welcome. CQ stands for Crazy Quilt.
I don't think you can call me accomplised. I have been quilting all my life but not like quilting is today. I started out with the quilts that were made from house dresses out of need and never throwing anything away that could be used. Then I moved to Lancaster and lived on an Amish Farm. They do quilt "for sale" but those are not the quilts you find on their beds. Serviceable is what they call them, mostly made from wool scraps with flannel backing.
It wasn't until about 8 years ago that I got into the kind of quilting that is done today. I think that came with the computer. Up until then I was cutting with a scissors and using cereal boxes to make patterns for hand quilting.
Some people do call me Bea, but as I got older it became a joke..Aunt Bea, like on TV and I just didn't want to have my cyber friends thinking I looked like that! lol
Makes perfect sense ... duh ... "CQ victorian boxes' certainly was a pretty good hint ... had I taken it ...

Oh ... I should add, if you are interseted in joining any swaps, May Happy Blocks is a good place to start ... Pat

Hi Holee! I just found this site recently too. I like it here so far...
I still have those snowman blocks that we swapped ....about 4 years ago(?). I still haven't set them together yet. I've cut myself off from joining any more swaps until I've finished setting together all of the blocks that I have, LOL.
