Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum, so I thought I would introduce myself. I've been quilting for about a year and a half. Not long, but I'm already hooked! My quilt group made the Nine-Patch Nirvana BOM as a group project in January and I'm currently working on the new Somewhere in Time BOM. I can't wait to meet all of you!
WELCOME! I moved from ID (Boise area)...to WA several years ago. I'm also a newbie here!! I've been quilting for just about the same amount of time you have, and I wish I could win the lottery so I could just play in my sewing room 24/7...lol

I live in Boise! Do you miss it much? I know Washington is beautiful, but it's hard to beat the view I have of the Owyhee Mountains and Bogus Basin. =) Luckily I'm a stay at home mom, so I have some time to play in my sewing room. It just never seems to be ENOUGH time. lol
Welcome, Jennifer, from Michigan, where it can't decide if it wants to be spring or stay winter for another month or two! We are glad you have joined us! Lots of activities and lots of nice people.
How funny...and what a smalll world! Boise was a small town when I lived there...and Meridian had ONE stoplight...lol Times have changed I hear...lol I left So. ID in 1992 and went north in the state towards Lewistion. I don't like being HOT...and that I don't miss!!
Hey... come join the "Happy Blocks" thread. They are super easy blocks to make...and you stand the chance to win a bunch of quilt blocks. Read up a bit...and you'll see it looks like a blast!
This Happy Block adventure is a first for me in here...but I'm going to dive in and get my feet wet! Here's the page for the May blocks May Happy Block Page

Thank you! Everyone seems very nice on this site. I used to live in Michigan too and I must say, those were the toughest winters and the hottest summers I've ever been through! lol Thanks again for the welcome. =)
Felicia, I'll go check out that Happy Blocks page now. Thanks for the tip! (And yes, things have changed a BUNCH here in the valley... Meridian is HUGE and most of the farmland is being eaten up by all of the new subdivisions. I remember when Meridian was an itty-bitty town too!)
Felicia ... yes, the summers and winters were BITTER in Michigan. The humidity and being surrounded by all of those lakes make the weather there harsh. If I remember correctly, the local news will announce in the winter time that the wind chills are so bad that you shouldn't go outside without covering every inch of skin. Otherwise you'll get frostbite! And in the summer, it's impossible to get a DRY t-shirt out of your dresser. The humidity is so high you're contantly damp and the air is just thick. =) Tough weather!
In other news, I signed up for the Happy Blocks swap. I'm really excited to go get my fabric now! lol Enjoy dinner...
