Thank You Gerda, I did buy a 1/4" pressure foot, so my straight lines are much improved. I was born and raised 7 miles south of Trenton, NJ. Moved to Vegas and then to Nebraska. Yes Jody I already feel at home here. Everyone is really helpful, and I will sure need that . lol

, Jersey, and to BC! May you make many quilts and many friends here. Not very long ago I was a novice quilter. Over twenty years ago I made baby quilts without having a clue as to what I was doing. They were cute and cuddly and they loved them to pieces. Then I stopped while we raised them. Just too busy and I really did not have the urge. Three or so years ago, I had the nesting instinct in reverse and had to make a quilt for my baby to take to her dorm room. The quilt bug bit big at that moment and now it is my favorite thing to do with my extra time ... (well, except maybe reading) ... I still feel like and "experienced beginner." There is a lot to learn and BC is a great place to do so. So many quilts to make ... so little time. But I am loving every minute of it and hope you will, too. Even though you are a beginner, check out the swaps ... the Happy Block Swap .. not a true block-for-block swap in that two winners are drawn each month and we send all our blocks to these two lucky people ... is easy and fun and we have had novice quilters join. Any thread that interests you, just jump right in. Ask questions ... ther are people here who know just how to help. Oh ... quote: ... You can take Jersey out of the state, but you can't take Jersey out of the girl. haha
... have you read the Janet Evanovich books? Or do people from the Trenton area want to throw things at her? I think I read that line somewhere ... Happy Quilting! Pat "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."... from "The Paradox of Our Age" by Dr. Bob Moorehead

Hi Welcome to the forums. I'm also new, but have found others to be really helpful. You mentioned wanting to learn to quilt. I have a quilting site that gives you information on quilting. It includes traditional quilt blocks, applique techniques, baby quilts and reviews of books, including books on starting your first quilt. My site is http://appliquequiltdesigns.com. Good luck in your quilting, it is lots of fun.
