Hello. My name is Tracy. I live in Pa. and am starting to quilt again after 10 years. The reason I picked up quilting again is because I lost my mother inlaw a few weeks ago and was given her material. My mother inlaw was a quilting instructor and an incredible quilter. I was given the bulk of my MIL's fabric, which is enormous (she had a huge weakness for all fabric), not to mention the books (some dating back to the 50's) and magazines.

When I quilted years ago the first quilt I made was a red bird wall hanging that me and DH designed. It is still put out every Christmas. Since that turned out ok I made my mom a blue bird quilt for her blue room. In 3 months I made 5 quilts to give for Christmas. I was burnt out and quit quilting for 10 years. Now I am hoping to use up all this fabric. I have already started a quilt for my youngest son. I just have to get a back for it.

I hope to get to know you and I am sure I will have many many questions.

Tracy

I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.

Tracy, welcome! I am sorry you've lost your dmil but all that fabric would get me sewing again also. Just hang with us and you'll be using a lot of that fabric!

We always enjoy meeting new quilters so come back often and chat, join in our swaps and conversations!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Misisipimenace, I am from the south also. My DH job moved us to Pa. I was raised in Ga. Sweet Tea is the all purpose drink. My kids are hooked and I got my DH drinking it after we got married.

I will post some pictures of my quilts as soon as I figure out how. I am preparing a new quilt today. My wonderful DH took me to a amish quilt shop today and I found a few of the templates I was looking for and also grabbed a few more yards of fabric for his tractor quilt.

Tomorrow is my sewing day so hopefully by Monday I will have a few to show off.

Welcome, Tracy, from central Alberta, Canada. I'm so glad you found us and joined us!! Smile Please don't be shy, and join in on the fun and caring found here. My condolences on the loss of your MIL - she sounds like she was a wonderful lady! You'll miss her! Hugs!

So, ladies, what's in Sweet Tea? Inquiring minds want to know. I've heard of Long Island Iced Tea, and want nothing to do with that! But sweet tea sounds right up my alley! Smile

Hello Tracy,
Welcome to BC. I'm a fairly newcomer too. Been away for a while on a trip away from home. But these ladies are very friendly here. Enjoy
