Im thinking of buying the EQ6 but am not sure how much I would use it. Does anyone out there have it and use it a lot? How easy is it? I will have to buy a computer also so it would be a bit of an investment. Think it's worth it? I do design my own patterns. I just can never find exactly what I want.

Deb, I have EQ4. I really like it. I understand that 6 is much better. I use mine to get an idea of color placement before I start cutting a quilt. I don't scan my fabric, but just use the color pallete choices in the library to come close. It has paid off many times, when I've decided that I needed to make some changes in color or placement.
It's also fun to play with how blocks interact with each other.... or to see what the difference would be if you change colors.... "Need" is pretty strong word... not sure I can answer that one for you.... If I had to choose between a software program or buying fabric, I'd definitely choose fabric... I have EQ6 and QuiltPro 5 (QP5). Because I got QP first, I like it better. I haven't played with EQ enough yet. Several others swear by EQ.

I have EQ5 and want to upgrade. I never used it much until this past year and now I use it all the time! They have color palettes on their website that you can download and you can create your own blocks too. I'm just getting started in that area....
It's a worthwhile investment for me! |
