I have had EQ5 for a long time but thinking about upgrading to EQ6. Could anybody tell me if there is enough changes and improvements in the new one to justify upgrading. Also, will all my saved projects and sketchbooks transfer into the new program? I would hate to have to re-create them all.

I find that I use my Eq6 more than I did the Eq5! I recommend the upgrade. I found it easier to use and it does have more tools!

WELL.....I DID IT!!! I ordered the EQ6!!!! I have read soooo much about it on this sight that I decided it was time! Besides, my hubby just made a deposit on a Moose hunt!!!! I think I will be getting more stuff!!!!! Maybe even a longarm quilting machine!! Wonder how long I will have to wait for the EQ6?!!!! Wendy

Wendy, I don't know where you ordered your from but I got mine of Planet Patchwork and had it with a week! I was surprised!

Quiltmouse, yes, you can open EQ5 projects(or earlier versions) with EQ6 but you cannot go backwards.
Meaning, you can NOT open a project with (for example) EQ5 that you created in EQ6. TeXas |

Every time I find an Eq5 file saved on my computer I convert it to Eq6! That gives me double but I don't care. I love the Eq6!

Quiltmouse, I too have ordered the EQ6 after listening to these ladies!! Now I am playing the waiting game!! I will think of Gerda's block and practice patience!! Mine should be here this week. What fun we will have

Betty,
I stopped by yesterday and the lady said she was surprised it wasn't in so she called. It appears that the wholesaler was waiting for her to confirm the order  Now we will see!!! I will also be taking a class when it comes in. So it is still a waiting game!! I will just have to quilt to keep myself busy!!! Wendy |
