This will be a wonderful place to share the books we love. We can share titles, publisher, ISBN numbers and authors. Share a little about the book and what you love about it!

Be very careful of copywrite laws, we would not want to be in violation. You can just give us a short preview and what patterns, techniques etc in the book!

The first book I want to share is one that I told you a little about aready. Some have ordered this book but others may have missed it!

It's title is "quick-method Liberty Quilts".
It's a Liesure Arts Publication presented by Oxmoor House! Hardcover ISBN: 0-8487-1565-9
Softcover ISBN: 1-574876-020-8

This is a great book for anything you want to make with the Patriotic Theme. It has great block patterns, wallhangings, pillows, table toppers, totes, chair Cushions, Vests, and of course quilts.

The quick-method is of course "rotary cutting and piecing". The photo's are delicious and the directions are so precise. Even beginner's would appreciate this book! It also has Applique' including Fusible and Mock Applique' stitch for finishing. It takes you from cutting to quilting with easy to understand directions!

Fabulous idea Betty for this thread. I know we will all enjoy it quite a bit.

I have two books that I would like to share. The first one is Elegant Stitches An illustrated Stitch Guide and Source Book of Inspiration,by Judith Baker Montano. It is published by C&T Publishing and the ISBN is 0-914881-85-X I have used this book quite a bit in the last few months working on Crazy quilt projects. Ms. Montano gives very easy to follow instructions on all the basic embroidery and embellishment stitches and then has a fabulous section at the back with Crazy Quilt Combination stitches. This is a must have for anyone interested in Crazy Quilting that is not already a knowledgeable embroiderer. This book is ring bound for ease of viewing while stitching.

The second book I have really been enjoying lately is Debbie Mumm's Quick Country Quilts For Every Room published by Rodale. ISBN 0-87596-775-2 for hardcover, and 1-57954-264-6 for paperback. I purchased the paperback online from Barnes and NObles as a used book and only paid about $3.50 for it plus 3.00 shipping. This book is full of fantastic things for anyone that has a country decorated home. Teapots, birdhouses, angels, topiary, and apples are main themes of her projects. She also includes a chapter on Sports projects for little boys and for hearts and flowers projects for little girls. Also included are some wonderful small Christmas projects. Throughout the book there are little tips on decorating and using simple things to make a country home cute. I have made several of the projects and the instructions are precise and clear. Many of the projects are small so fabric requirements are not vast for any of the projects.

Elaine, it is a great book! I know those that already purchased it online have received it and nothing but praises for it!

Connie, I have had the Debbie Mumm book for years and have learned a lot from it. It covers just about anything you would like!

I'm going to have to check out Elegant Stitches. Anything Judith Baker Montano does is beautiful! She is the Queen of Crazy Quilt Stitches!

I am one who purchased Quick Liberty Quilts after Betty mentioned it, and it is FULL of great patriotic ideas. But you could also make many of them in spring-y colors or other colors, too. I'm glad I got it.

There are two books I like:
Better Homes and Gardens 501 Quilt Blocks. ISBN 0-696-01997-3 (hardcover) and ISBN 0-696-20480-0 (softcover).
LOTS of nice blocks that are groups by themes in this book. Easy to find a block for that special occasion.

101 Fabulous Rotary-Cut Quilts by Judy Hopkins and Nancy J. Martin. It is published by Martingdale & Company, under That Patchwork Place. ISBN 1-56477-240-3. I have only made one quilt out of this book, but have many more bookmarked for later. LOL The patterns are all geared to rotary cutting the pieces, which makes it very quick and easy. I LOVE rotary cutting.

I have LOTS more, too. I am a sucker for neat quilt books and magazines.

Linda, I had to go check my library because I have several BHG block books. But mine are both 101 full-size Quilt Blocks & Borders ISBN: 0-696-20739-7 is one I've had for years. It's a great book.

The other one is very new, it's BHG Grandma's Best Full-Size Quilt Blocks. There are some great blocks but I'm disappointed in the book. You have to be a genius to use the blocks. They leave all the work up to you...very sketchy directions. Too much trouble..give me my Eq6!

Mary, that would be great. We'll look forward to it. It's always fun when a book comes highly recommended! I know I've been disappointed many times but now we can share and give each other insight!

Thanks,
Betty
