Great work, Debo - this list is so useful Smile

Betty - weren't you thinking of moving the thread out of Looking for a pattern?

Your behind the scenes girl friday didn't do so well on the book reviews...I went over the list 2 times before posting then going back for a specific book for a title I see that there are still some problems with the list...maybe posting such aa large list is a bad idea because I know it was there! Be back later got a phone call.

Well Deb, I think it's a great idea! Thanks for going thru all the trouble of putting that list out on the first page. It's nice to just scroll down it to find what I want to look at again.

This was the first book I bought when I wanted to learn about hand quilting it is very informative from how thread is made to what needles to use.
The Perfect Stitch by Roxanne McElroy
ISBN 0-8442-2652-1

Her thimble is wonderful I have one and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Yes what is there is helpful but we are going to have to do some more work because they are not all listed for some weird reason maybe we just need to load a few lines at a time to the page and get them all listed. There is a way we just have got to hone in on it. We will get it all up there one way or other.

Dorian thanks for the encouragement and thanks to all you other ladies too. Betty had a great idea and hopefully we can all make it shine brightly.

Hi and welcome, Maggie - please post something about yourself in the Introductions thread - we love all the details. This is a great forum with lots of really helpful members. Glad you've joined us Smile

It's not a book but the companion CD to the Quilter's Block a Day Calendar is really great. 365 lovely blocks and all the instructions to make as well as a picture showing 4 blocks put together to give you an idea of what the joined block will look like.

Award Winning Applique Birds written by Pamela Humphries published by American Quilter's Society; ISBN: 978-1-57432-943-8. It's a wonderful selection of colorful birds and very detailed applique. But you can use any method you like. It's great!

The other is Quiltmaker's Fancy from The Editors & Contributors of Quiltmaker Magazine. It's published by C&T Publishing; ISBN: 978-1-57120-447-9. There are some great quilts in this book!

Hello Everyone!

I've been on the hunt for about a year now, and Linda O really gave me a boost looking for a mystery quilt block carrier. My partner in crime here is sure she owns this book, but she can't find it at the moment. Patience is NOT one of my better virtues when I'm on a mission for something.

Sooooooo....if any of your have this book: Baltimore Elegance: A New Approach to Classic Album Quilts.

Would you be so kind as to please peek in it and let me know what the "block carrier" looks like etc. I was told the block carrier is not listed in the index. The pattern is just in the book and it’s a rather insignificant looking pattern. Yet...when I saw it made it was really a great tool for someone who often hauls their unfinished blocks around with them.

Thanks in advance!

Felicia
