Jacqui, I have looked at that book many times and now wished I had purchased it. I just might yet. It's good to know that it comes recommended! Thanks for sharing! Hugs, Betty

Betty - I love that you started this thread! I am a book junkie, but they're expensive, so it's nice to read here the ones that have been tried, loved and recommened.
I have too many favorites to name them all, but one that I especially turn to again and again is The Simple Joys of Quilting by Joan Hanson and Mary Hickey. It has 30 wonderful patterns in it, and lots of tips, hints and techniques. Each quilt comes with a story about how it came to be a quilt (and since I love reading, this is an added fun bonus for me). This is a great book for beginners through experienced. I've made more quilts from this book than from any others that I own.

Thank you Suzanne, I'm glad you are enjoying the site. I agree that books are expensive and between all of us I'll bet we have most of them! lol We are such junkies!
I just can't get rid of my books. Any book when I get it I keep it! Just ask my dh! He hated loading all those books every time we moved!
But I love them all. Some are more helpful than others. That's why I wanted to share them with others!

I would like to share this book with all of you. Pam Bono is a Quick Rotary Cutter artist! The second quilt I made was from her book entitiled "More Quick Rotary Cutter Quilts" pyublished by Oxmoor House and Leisure Arts. Hardcover ISBN: 0-8487-1512-8 Softcover IASBN: 0-8487-1514-4
I made a dinosaur quilt for my dgs, Jeremy. He helped me choose fabric and everything! Dinosaurs were named after all his cousins and a couple of friends! On the reverse is a patriotic fabric because he could not choose between a flag quilt and the dinosaurs!
This book is great for beginners and has some fabulous patterns in it. I especially love the black sheep baby quilt and the Sunflower Quilt!
Here's a photo of Jeremy's Quilt!

I still have my son's cuddle blankie (he's 28) - when he was packing up his stuff prior to getting married, his wife-to-be wanted to throw it out - he was quite upset, so I said I'd keep it for him.
That is an adorable quilt, Betty; if he asked you to take care of it for him, he likely wants to keep it for when he's married and has a baby. That would be so neat! Of course, GG will be making more quilts, but that's a special one.
Going to cut my block now!
