Okay, it's been awhile so how about a book review!
ISBN 0-87596-708-6 Published in 1996 by Rodale Press is Easy Machine Quilting... 12 Step-by-step lessons from the Pros, plus a dozen projects to machine quilt! Jane Townswick is the Editor and some of the Pros that have lessons are: Caryl Bryer Fallert, Sue Nickel's, Caroline Reardon, Debra Wagner!

I began a quilt top for a grandson several years ago! I had the top almost done when he came to make sure it was a full size quilt. Well, because of a boo-boo on my part it did not measure to 48 x 64 inches as it was supposed to and it would not have been that big! I stopped! Well, I'm now going to finish the thing! Here is a photo of the main part of the top! It's called Illusion #13.... now don't laugh but here it is.

Oh by the way, there are some great lessons in this book and patterns also!

Betty

Betty if you need somewhere for it to go Big Grin
I don't care if it is not 48x64. I would love to do a quilt like that. I have a book here called Optical Illusions by Karen Combs which has a picture of a quilt in it that reminds me of yours.

Betty that is a fabulous quilt!!! WTG!!! Girl!!!

I'm reading a book by Harriet Hargrave titled "Heirloom Machine Quilting". It is a must have for anyone that wants to be able to machine quilt their own projects. She even makes quilting a huge quilt look relatively easy with her techniques and her spot on instructions. While I do feel it is a bit biased against long-arm quilters I can overlook that attitude for the instruction on quilting with my regular sewing machine.

This book is the 4th Edition published by Amy Marson. ISBN # 1-57120-236-6 (hardcover)

Thanks all of you! It really isn't hard to do this quilt! It is actually strip pieced, cut apart several different times. You begin with 2 35" squares of a paper template. You fold each paper in half; then cut from bottom corner to center point on each side. Then cut in center piece in half when the side are cut off! See photo! Then you will have 8 paper patterns which will be marked every 3 inches with sewing lines! Well you get the idea! When you have all your graded colors together; trim and put the sqaure back together! You'll have two...then just cut each square in 3" strips and inter-change color schemes so that the points are poiting to the middle! Clear as mud huh? lol
