Hi

I can see I have been away for to long, it's first now I have seen this thread about one of my favorite items: books - thanks Betty.
My latest purchase is: Spellbinding Quilts, Wizards, Witches and Magical Characters to Paper Piece by Maaike Bakker from That Patchwork Place/ Martingale & Co, ISBN-13: 978-1-56477-74-7. It's the perfect book if you have children or grandchildren who are Harry Potter fans as there are owls and dragons - or have a little girl/granddoughter who loves fairies, handsome knights and unicorns. The instructions are good and easy to follow.

And then I love my stack and wack books Smile.

Anne-Marie that book sounds wonderful! I'm a hugh fan of Harry Potter and so are several of my grandchildren! I'll have to check into it! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Now, have you missed signing up for the upcoming swaps! The Christmas one is still open if you haven't signed up! I do need a partner for our last member!

Anne-Marie, I saw that book on Amazon and was really tempted - will have to go back and get it now.

I'm also a great Harry Potter fan - roll on 11 July for the next movie and 21 July for the new book!

Hi all

I don't have a book to share (yet) but I love to read. Does anyone have any suggestions of books on the history of quilts and quilting. I have the one about the underground railroad, but I'm looking for others.

Hi Lizzi,
While Linda was here in Germany we went to a small Quiltshow. And it was about historic Quilts and the the Underground Railroad Quilts. It was very interesting and I had never heard anything about this before. Linda knew great deal about it. Well anyways she told me about the Book " An Elm Creek Quilts Sampler" So I went and bought it and its so great to read I hardly find time to sew.

Happy Quilting

Kerstin :-)

Thanks for the suggestions ladies.
I know what you mean Cookie. I've read a couple of Elm Creek books and I ended up curled on the couch instead of sewing.

I'm looking for a book entitled "Quilting Dot to Dot" by Cheryl Barnes. It's a book to help with quilting designs, different methods for marking your quilts! I saw the author on America Sews with Sue Hausmann and decided that I must have this book. I've not really looked hard yet but thought I would tell everyone about it and maybe one of you could direct me.

I have a new book, will tell you about it a little later when I've gone through it completely!
