I have the 250 contiouousline book. But Im not very good in mashine quilting.

Kerstin, Thank you I've been so busy with trying to get blocks out and WH's done that I just haven't stopped long enough to look. You saved me some time!

On machine quilting I have to tell you that I had been doing my quilting on my Pfaff 1475CD because it has a built in walking foot. But the machine was purchased in 1993 and is old. What can I say. It's still a great machine but my Brothers SE270D Embroidery Machine has a nicer stitch to it. I guess because it is a new machine and let's face it things have certainly improved since 1993 in machines. Also I have a walking foot and it does beautiful cross-hatch stitching. For the first time I did free-motion quilting on the Patriotic WH for Jess and I'm kinda proud of it! I only did it on the Eagle...go take a look see in the Album and let me know what you think! It has encouraged me to practice more!

the WH is great. on the picture I cant realy tell the quilting, to bad. I guess I just have to give it another try.

Betty - I've only just got the book and started trying out some of the patterns. They all need practice but the basic method is to practice with pencil and paper first so that the pattern is memorised before you start sewing out. They also use reference dots for placement. Sounds awfully complicated but it does work.
I bought the book mainly for the patterns which can be sized up and down so I can adjust them to fit into the parameters of my quilting frame.

Kerstin, I had a free coupon with my book club and just order a quilting book entitled "Twice Quilted by Giovanne Cubbage! It looks interesting. I also had some bonus point for an almost free book and ordered, "Follow-The-Line Quilting Desings, Volume Two. I can't remember who wrote it but it looked interesting!

Hey Thought I'd let everyone know of a great bargain! When I got my Patriotic WH from Leanne this year, It has intrigued me to try red work embroidery. I went to our local library and the librarian told me this book was the best of all kinds of needlework and it is!! It is called>
Readers Digest Guide to Needlework. I came home and found it to be an essential I had to have in my library! It has 500 pages in it and has embroidery, quilting, rug-making,needlepoint, patchwork, knitting, appliqué, crochet, lacework, macramé! The best part I got mine copy for only 24 cents on Amazon!! Had to pay 3.99 for shipping but It is well worth every penny!!! go to www.amazon.com and type the title in and it should come up used and new ones. They still had some tonight and had some for 11 cents too! ( Those weren't there 10 days ago when I ordered mine). Anyways I got it today and love it! Hope you will go check it out, and can get in on the good deal of a book!!! It is awesome!! Thanks Leanne for doing my WH in Redwork stitchery bc I would not of gone looking at the local library otherwise!
