Today's word, according to the New York Times, is consternation: \ˌkän(t)-stər-ˈnā-shən\ · (adjective): amazement or dismay that hinders or throws into confusion (as defined by Merriam-Webster)

As in, Meg was thrown into a consternation when her favorite pair of scissors went missing. I'll bet many of you experience consternation when looking at your sewing rooms! LOL I know Jennell's latest quilt has caused her consternation. See how many times you can use it in conversation today!

pro·cras·ti·nate /proʊˈkræstəˌneɪt, [proh-kras-tuh-neyt]

–verb (used with object)
to put off till another day or time; defer; delay

This is my word! and I don't like it. I wish I could just sit down and do it NOW instead of right before something is needed! Any suggestions on how to accomplish this will be greatly appreciated!

Lauren

Sometimes you just have to step aside and let God take over.

Don't forget to laugh today!

Pentimento /pentimento/ pen-te-men-to
noun. a visable trace of earlier painting beneath the paint on a canvas. origin Italian, "repentance".

I know this is supposed to apply to paintings, but it also applies to our lives and frequently to our quilts, We re-do what isn't working for us, keeping what does work and modifying those things that are not quite right.

UFO's, WIP's, they can all be pentimentos!
NOT Pimentos...that's something in a olive!
Cheers

New York Times Word for the Day* is:

extrapolate · \ik-ˈstra-pə-ˌlāt\ · (verb)

1 : to infer (values of a variable in an unobserved interval) from values within an already observed interval
2 a : to project, extend, or expand (known data or experience) into an area not known or experienced so as to arrive at a usually conjectural knowledge of the unknown area
b : to predict by projecting past experience or known data

How many times can you work that into conversations today? Hmmmmmm......

I can extrapolate from the condition of my sewing room that I need to do some major cleaning! Not a recon mission, search and destroy! LOL
