Baby quilt!! Im just found out Im pregnant!! Holy cow! This will be my second baby. I have a 5 yr old stepson (who lives with us) and a 2 yr daughter. wow! so all our kids will be 3 yrs apart lol. I am so over all the typical baby stuff, so I think I'll make my own bedding and layette. Im so excited!! I haven't old dh yet, hes out to sea right now so it'll be a surprise when he gets home (just a couple weeks) I'm voting blue this time
A baby, how exciting! It's never too soon to start sewing for the little darlin. What colors are you going to use? I am prone to greens, my own self. So pretty and this will be a spring baby.
Enjoy!

Congratulations!! Sounds like a fun project to make your own nursery items. A boy would be fun with camp patchwork and canoes and pine trees.. or island colors in light aqua, blue, sand and white, patchwork sailboats and stars and.....
Congrats on the new baby. Back in the dark ages before ultrasounds, I went with light green and yellow. That way it didn't matter if it was a boy or girl. Making your own layette is so exciting. Better get sewing. Lots of those tiny things to make.
I made diapers many years ago for my son (he's 30 now!), I made a few for my granddaughters, but my DD decided to just go with disposables - rubber pants were almost impossible to find!
If you need a pattern, let me know, and I'll see if I can find one.
Colour wise, hmmm ... I'd personally stick with yellow, green, white, with maybe a touch of blue thrown in there. But, hey! it's your choice and your baby!!

have never made diapers..but have made tons of burp cloths, and recieving blankets. I like to make the blankets flannel on one side, and chenille on the other. usually when someone I know has a shower, I make them a set of blankets, and matching burp cloths.
fun to sew for babies!! If you do a search for cloth diaper patterns, I know you will come up with something...have seen the patterns before on the web.

OOOHHH! A new baby on the forum! How fun is that? Congratulations Penny! You will have to tell all about the surprise when hubby gets home. We are all very happy for you! I'm voting for the island colors 'cause I think the aqua would work for either or.
Thank you all! I am so excited lol. I think Island colors would work well too. I think maybe i'll have the ultrasound tech put the gender on a paper in an envelope and open it on Christmas. I think thats fair lol.
