Good evening, it's 9:00 pm here so I'm late posting today. But, we had a very pleasant day. It was warm and sunny so we went for a drive to look at some condos we had seen an advertisement for. They are about halfway between where we are now and my mom and are for us old folks, 55+ years. Found them without any problem but decided that they weren't for us. The floor plan was pretty good but they were only a few yards off a major street and in a commercial neighborhood. Not exactly what I had in mind. Also, there was only about 8 units and they were all joined to each other so six of them only had windows on the front and back on the home. I'm sure they will appeal to someone, just not me. But, it's not a big problem as our house hasn't sold yet so we don't really have to buy one yet either.

DH goes back to the surgeon tomorrow morning to get the stitches out of his hand and wrist. Yippee! I'm sure that he will be glad that he will be able to shower without having to wrap his hand and arm in a large plastic bag, fastened with lots of tape. I know I would be happy about that. Big Grin

I had a very productive day yesterday, quilt wise. I got all of the pieces cut out for the graduation for one of my DGD's. I have two of them graduating from high school this year. Only have five more to go and the youngest is only 10 years old. I have ideas for all of them and have a couple of the tops finished. Just need to get them quilted. I think that I have enough to keep me busy for quite some time.

Hope spring is springing wherever you are.

Good Evening, Jacqui,

I am so sorry to hear that you are still stuck in winter there. Eek

It was cool and damp and drizzily here all day, but my tulips are sprouting up and the buds are on the trees. Shamrock

I am happy to hear that your DH is getting the stitches taken out, Barb. Sounds like he is on the mend. Will continue to keep him in my prayers for healing.

I went to the Amoskeag Quilters Guild Annual Quilt Show today in Manchester, NH, with my DH and we had a very nice time. So many wonderful quilts on display! I ran into my workshop teacher and one of my fellow Elm Creek Book Club Sampler stitchers.

I even won a free pattern for a doorprize. I only bought a few fat quarters of fabric from the vendors and a pattern for the quilt my DH liked best in the show. We met the lady at her booth who made the quilt and sells her designs.
My DH would probably love Jenn's BC BOM quilt ... his favorite was a brown/rust oriental floral panel quilt. Here is the pattern:

I am on a hunt for the center panel now.
My DH actually enjoyed going around and filling out and turning in his Viewer's Choice card.

So that was my day ... any day where I am surrounded by be-au-ti-ful quilts is a gooooood one! Big Grin Pat

Good morning ladies!

We still have snow on the ground too, but we're expecting sun and above 0 temps all week, so fingers crossed the snow goes by leaps and bounds. I'm tired of it! Seems like ages since I could be out there puttering. Smile

Barb ... glad your DH is having his stitches out. I had a year of showering with a plastic sleeve on my PIC line, not fun.

Pat .. how neat your hubby enjoyed the quilt show with you!

My DH is back at school, spring break is over. He surely disrupts my 'normal routine' when he is home Razz

Have some housekeeping chores to do this morning and some sewing. Didn't get much chance to sew all last week. Had company for supper last night, so spent a chunk of Saturday cracking the whip to get everyone's stuff picked up and tidied away.
Does everyone else need to entertain to have that happen? Roll Eyes

Have a great day everyone! I'm off to get my chores done.

LOL Patti! I know just what you mean, sometimes I think my house would never get cleaned if company wasn't coming. Don't you love the mad dash when you only have 15 minutes warning? Yippee!

I like the idea of this thread being started over every month now. That should make it a lot easier on our fearless leaders.

JACQUI!!!!! Big Grin Yippee! Big Grin Sporty Big Grin So glad to see you smiling here again!!!

I worked like a slave trying to get a top together this weekend. Didn't get done but I did manage to get all the blocks done. I will post in the gallery section later.

Hope it's a great week for everyone!

Good afternoon all. Pat, what a wonderful day you had with your DH looking at beautiful quilts. I love the pattern and hope you find just the right fabric for the center panel. There are some great Asian fabrics out there right now.

Howard's stitches came out without any problems. Since he didn't wait until he had lost complete use of his hand and muscle strength, he doesn't need any follow up therapy. Just continue the exercises they gave him before the surgery. Still can't go back to work for 3 or 4 more weeks because of the lifting but that's ok by me. The longer he's home, the surer he is that he will retire and not go back at all.

We did spend a lot of time running back and forth to the Toyota dealer today tho. DH's pickup truck has 100,000 miles on it and has started giving him some trouble. Actually, it hasn't been as reliable as it should be. So, we stopped to talk to the fellows at the dealer where we got my Highlander back in October. We wound up trading both his truck and his car for a new Toyota Tundra, 4 door, 4X4 pickup truck. Right now, he is cleaning out his truck. It was packed from the last party he catered with tables and all sorts of stuff. He has the boy from around the corner helping him with it. Me, I just have to be drive the car tomorrow while he drives his truck to the dealership to pick up the new one. I'm going to like the new truck. It has an automatic transmission so my knees won't complain if I have to drive it. I did test drive it and it's really nice.

Now that I'm home, I'm going to try to sort out some of the "stuff" I have hanging around the house and decide which to pack and which to toss. Hard decisions sometimes but can't put it off until we have an offer on the house. Need to be ready to move fast when the time comes.

Here's hoping that warmer weather and sun is headed your way.

Hugs, Barb Mcf

Jacqui,

What about letting me prune posts older than 30 days on a weekly basis (Friday's seem to work best for me Smile )? That way if someone hasn't been on in a few days (or weeks) they can catch up on the news. Wink
