Good morning,

Thought I'd pop in and say Hi. Glad to hear you are all doing well. It's hot here, not as bad as usual though, so it's nice not being in the triple digits. There are a few fires burning still, but the smoke has been staying away from us, thankfully.

Eek Nine loads of laundry Meg!!! wowwweee..Hope you got some rest after that...oh yah, movie day, that sounds like fun. And the pies sound scrumptious!

Sorry about your gardens, Jacqui and Meg. I'm thankful for dh being home this year, as he's taken great care of our garden. We've been making pickles, freezing zucchini's (and making chocolate zuke bread), and making spagetti sauce lately. Our corn is just about done, can't wait to eat a bunch of that! Yippee!

LOL Pam, hope the fumes go away soon, without you passing out! What kind of business is it?

Jenell, glad you have a pool to keep cool in, in that awful heat! Woohooo on a new machine!!

Glad the electrician got his work done Jacqui, bu sorry he missed filling in his holes! Yah to Jay-Jay feeling better.

Woohooo Pat, have a fantastic day at the quilt show!!! lucky gal you...

Have a great day all.

Dorian

Dorian,

Every time I hear a report on the news about the fires out there in California, I think about you and hope you all are okay.

Guess I'll be making another strawberry pie today. I left the extra pies at church last night for a funeral tomorrow. My son used to take piano lessons from the church organist so I would have a weekly visit with her MIL during his session. The MIL died the other day.

Steve was glad to leave the pies for the dinner after the service, ......until he got home and realized there wasn't any pie here! So I promised to make him another one today.

Have fun at the quilt show, Pat! Be sure to hand your credit cards and checkbook over to hubby if there are vendors! LOL

Pammy, think I missed something. What type of business is it? I have heard of companies where there is a mandatory break for everyone to read or exercise, etc. I should think if you are the boss, a mandatory stitching break should fall within your prerogative! You'd be amazed at how much piecing or applique can be completed in twenty minutes!

Have a great day all!

Pat,

Thanks for looking at my blog. Yes, the pinwheel quilt is the same pattern that you've seen on the fat quarter site.

Good Morning ...

Going back to the quilt show today ... I hope ... this time with my DH, as this is the Friday off from his flex schedule ... but we are having technical difficulties of the plugged drain nature ... so super hubby must deal with that first before we can take showers and go enjoy the quilts ...

Meg ... there are lots of vendors ... I was very good ... I bought only 12 fat quarters for $1 each and I got a 13th one free ... Big Grin

I was with my DD ... and she bought more than I did ... some $1 fat quarters ... a couple of other ones to match ... and an end of bolt special price deal with five yards for the backing for her quilt ... and then we had lunch and went to two nearby quilt shops to see if she could find just the right fat quarters for a Turning Twenty type block quilt ... she actually started cutting the blocks when we got home ... she is still loking for the perfect border fabric for her quilt, but I suggested that she could select that after she sews the blocks together ...

Today, though, I might not be as good Roll Eyes... but I have plenty of fabric at home and I really want to see all the exhibits and we missed some yesterday ... this venue is a bit spread out ... I have more quilts to see ... Smile Smile Smile

The admission is good for all 4 days of the show and DD says she wants to go back on Sunday morning before she goes to work, maybe ...

Pammy ... I thought I recognized that was the same pinwheel quilt that I am working on making with some other quilty aunties for a baby on the way. It is such a cute pattern. It looks lovely in your batiks. We are doing a pink and white for a baby girl.

Dorian ... glad you are having a bit of relief from the smoke and the fires ... have you been able to get into the mountains lately or to the brook?

Jenell ... did you pick the sewing machine yet ? ... I saw several one block wonder type quilts at the show yesterday and thought of you ... these always look so complicated to me ... I saw the book, too, and I looked at it awhile but did not buy ... maybe today ... I am not sure I would be good at these ...

Dee ... glad to hear you enjoyed some scrapbook organizing time ... I have some scrapbook supplies but I never seem to get many pages done ... are you back to the salt mines lately selling cell-phones ???

Jacqui ... good to hear that Jay is gaining weight back and starting to return to his happy tail self ...

Rebecca ... had one of your quilt friend gatherings lately??? ... those sound so nice ...

I do enjoy my quilt girl sessions with my DD ... so nice to have company in the quilty corner ...

Well ... I best get some stuff done if I am going to try to get to the Quilt Show later ...

Good Morning Quilters!

Man oh man Pat, I sure would love to go with you today!

Pammy, your pinwheel quilt is still one of my favorites! One of these days........ I hope they get the fumes out of there soon. I just couldn't take that at all. It's good to have you back here.

I still don't know how you all keep up and post something for everyone. Eek My memory span is less than a minute here and then I'm always called away in the middle of a post and forget what I was going to say anyway.

I just got an email that says my machine has shipped already! Oh boy, I can't wait to try my new feet!!! Sounds like Pat and I both have super hubbies, and don't forget Howard the cook! We will have to be sure these guys are around if we ever all get together. They could prove very useful Wink

OMG! My triangles just arrived for the pyramid swap!!! There goes the living room floor for a few days! Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin
