We had a rough week. Besides my mother ending up in the hospital, the MIL of Doug's piano teacher/church organist died, Doug got his first parking ticket and was very upset, Steve's back was acting up and I think I may have an abcessed tooth. I am hoping next week will be much better. I have some sewing that I would like to finish up this morning as we have a picnic to go to this afternoon. Of course, they are predicting storms this afternoon, so who knows if that will materialize.

Have a great day all!

Well I had to work today so no playing yet. And I just got an email saying our lqs moved up their little show for finished projects from Sept 26 to August 26th!!! Eek No way I can get my skirt finished in time. I still have to get thread for the quilter and she usually is booked for 3 weeks. I guess I will show something someday. Sigh..... Oh well, another time.
I am however going to the shop to get some pretty red thread for it today and they are having an end of the bolt sale so maybe they will have a nice backing for Bill's hawaiian throw. I had one picked out but wasn't sure about it. But hey, 60% off can really help you make up your mind fast! Wink

Meg I hope this week goes much better for you! Sounds like my household.

Good afternoon Jacqui! How is Mr Jay Jay today? And did you get the holes patched yet?

I did watch the opening ceremonies of the Olympics last night. What a show! I don't think this one will ever be topped. Only thing missing was a beautiful quilt! Wink

Good Morning all my quilty buds, I hope this note finds everyone doing well.
Yes Pat still working both jobs but not for long as I just can't take it anymore, the working two jobs doesn't bother me but the fact that the every lil request I have submitted has been denied, there is no support system, my hrs keep getting changed even thou I keep telling them I have a second job...see the problem w/ these sort of places is they know they are one of the highest paying places in Cedar city and there is always 2 more people to fill your seat if you quit.I will still have the waitress job and that boss will give me more hrs and then I have a couple other ideas to help w/ the income. I feel really good about this but could also use a few well wishs that I can pick-up some other lil job.
Jenell I know the feeling of not being able to play...thank goodness for sunday as thats when I can play almost all day and boy do I have projects to catch up on.I sure wouldn't mind going to the quilt show w/ Pat. We don't get them to close to Cedar City so I drool and think someday I will travel to one again.
Meg I sure hope your household is alittle better this coming week.
Pammy I also took the tour of your blog, very very nice.

Not meant to leave anyone out..big waves to all and to all have a great sunday.

Dee,
I can understand the position that you are in. Even though mine is a volunteer position, I decided that it is better for me to resign. I am concern that I will come down ill(Because I can feel it coming). I know that about me from previous experiences when it comes to working with certain type of people and right now I am more needed in taking care of my family.Probably will be frown upon with me resigning. This still has to do with the issue I have been facing this past month and the anger issue that I mentioned up in the Pyramid swap.
I guess what I am saying is you have to do what is best for you. I am 100% behind you and I will keep you in my prayers.

Trina....being a at&t phone center person sounds simple enough and I have really struggled w/ myself for weeks now on what to do. The training was alot to be desired and then you get thrown out there on the call center floor not really feeling like you know what you are doing. Then there is the whole stuck inside at a lil cubicle all day-that just isn't me, oh I went through the whole thought process of trying to convince myself I could adjust & be ok there. Guess when I prayed for a less phycial job I should have added details....lol
Yes since this is my main source of income I have really been stressing over what to do. I moved to Cedar City because it gave me a sense of peace, something I hadn't felt for a very long time and here I was right back in a position where I was constantly stressed. While I am concerned I am not overly worried, maybe that will come later when the rent & other bills are due again...lol...but I have this sense of faith that somehow I will be ok.
Today even though I am fighting a lousey cold I have worked in my craft/sewing rm and done things I haven't felt like doing in a couple mths...so to me thats another sign...some of my customers at my waitress job have also noticed I am not all stressed out and gee the tips were better last night and the owner has already given me more hrs......so huge thanks for your support and I want you to know I am sending the same right back at ya. You would think in a volunteer position you would be treated like gold.
hope u r enjoying your sunday...any army wives fans out there? my 1 show I really look forward to.

Good Evening ...

It was a wondeful few days at the quilt show ... it is a rare treat to have one locally, as I have been able to go everyday for at least a short while and soak up the quilts ...

Trina ... sometimes it is in those volunteer positions that is just the hardest to decide it is time to move on ... you need take a deep breath and let go ... not feel like you have to try to continue out of an obligation to the people who have benefited by your efforts ... be mindful of all you have given to this organization ... remember all the good feelings of accomplishmenst and how you have made a difference ... and take only the good feelings forward with you ... {{{{{hugs}}}}} and prayers going out to you ...

Dee ... {{{{{hugs}}}}} ... wish you could have been here with me to soak up the quiltys ... we would have had a grand time ... I pray that you are guided to your next position and that all your needs are met ...

Meg ... I hope your week will be better ...

Jacqui ... you have been having lots of rain again, may the sun smile on you ...

Gerda ... I hope you shake off the summer flu and feel better ...

... may tonight be filled with sweet dreams for everyone and may the morning be the start of a lovely quilty week ...

Pat
