Good morning my friends! Hope it's a good day all around today! My machine arrived yesterday, 3 days early! Woo hoo! But it's still in the box. I don't have a clue how to use all the feet that came with it and am hoping the dvd will explain each one since there are no directions with them. The machine has the book and it's mostly like my old one. So I might be posting pics of my feet so you all can tell me what to do with them. lol Skyler is at her first day of school today. It sure is going to be quiet around here. Except for Mommy crying at the drop of a hat. First day of school pics are in my blog.

Oh, Jacqui, don't you just love the smell of towels that have been dried in brisk breeze? I remember the summer my mother and dad went on a trip up to bring my brother home from college. While they were gone, I went over to their house and washed all the bedding; sheets, blankets conforters, mattress pads, the works, besides doing the regular laundry they had left. When my mother got home, she said she knew what I had done as soon as she walked in because the whole house smelled like fresh laundry. lol Needed to cut the half triangles for my 1000 Pyramids. In looking for fabric I decided that the drawers I keep fabric in were in desperate need of straightening. I have been all morning sorting, removing fabric that can go directly to the scrap box, setting aside fabric that belongs in a different collection, cutting triangles for the 30's quilt I want to do. It has been quite liberating. I am nearly half done. Still have two more drawers to do. Back to work- Herman and I are watching 'Arsenic and Old Lace' while we play Barbie's! LOL Have a great day all!

Hey, ladies, I'm finally caught up reading this thread! Wow, lots going on~ As for me, when I have colds/flu with the coughing, I've given up on cold remedies - Tyelenol (regular or with codeine) works best to stop the coughing. Toddies sound good, though. Meg, kudos to DS2! They learn more than they let on, sometimes! Jenell, that pic of Bill at the sewing machine brought back memories - many years ago, my Bill decided (after getting one of these little things) to make mini bras to hang from rearview mirrors in cars. We went to Fabricland for fabric and tape and snaps, he borrowed my machine and scissors, and went to work. He did make a few (sorry, I never kept any!) but not enough to sell, which was his aim at the time. And I know what you mean about Skyler and school - Maya starts grade 1 in a couple of weeks, seems she was just a baby! And Haley starts grade 3!! Dee, honey, hope you're better soon, and things WILL work out, with HIS help. They always do. Trina, hugs to you, and the same advice - let go and He will work it out. Jacqui - so glad JayJay's doing better. hope the rains stay away for a while! And I pray for speedy healing from your cold, too! and totally understand your wish to not infect any more than you have to. Pat, sure wish I could have gone to that show! The one main show we get locally each year, doesn't have tons of quilts that would warrant a second day (an hour's drive, too) - but that's OK. I take pics of the ones there, and some of the booths, too, and can review them on my computer afterwards. The toughest part is all the vendors!! all those lovely fabrics etc that need homes! I hope your computer woes are over with - DH is having issues with his, again, too - he just replaced a hard drive, but needs to replace another one. Dorian, glad to hear the fires are almost out! Scary, that! If I missed anyone, sorry, not intentional, like Jenell, my memory's not the greatest either. Hey, speaking of which, I heard on the news a couple of days ago that all the fluoride they put in the water, is BAD for our brains and thyroids - maybe that's our problem - they need to STOP THAT RIGHT NOW!!! OK, ladies, my second load of laundry is washing, I have a couple pieces of fabric to press, and then some sewing!!! Wahooooo!!! I'm so happy!!!! Later, gators! Gerda
A day hemmed in prayer seldom unravels. Keep looking UP! When it seems there is no way out, there is always a way up!

Well it's afternoon here as I've been to town and back to take care of the dmil! I'm so happy she just wanted a visit and I didn't have to run errands or do grocery shopping or clean house. We'll do that Saturday when we go back. Dropped by the lqs that is closing at the end of August and bought all they had of black and white checked fabric for a theme swap. My theme will be Rock Music for my dgd, Taylor. She plays Clarinet and guitar. She has an electric guitar and wants her own band. She only wears black and white checks and the color pink. So all additions to the black and white checks will be in shades of pink. Now to wash, iron and cut 18 blocks to serge around and get in the mail. Also bought a new 1/4-inch foot with the edge so I can sew all these triangles together without having to watch that 1/4-inch on my other 1/4-inch foot! So have a great day everyone.... Betty

Good morning Ladies,
Going to be waaaay too hot for me today. Have to find something to do in the living room, where the swamp cooler is. Good thing I have some hand sewing that needs done.
Thanks for the smilies Meg and Pat. I'll have my little man sit down with me later today to look at them. And then he can tell me which is his favorite.
Gerda, it's amazing how many things that are supposed to be good for you, really aren't! Or they are good for you in one way, IE: fluoride and teeth, but not in another way.
Awww Jenell, Skylar will warm up to going to school soon. And her being happy there will help Mom out. LOL
Take care all, have a great day.

I have been trying to get back here and post for 2 days! Okay, yesterday afternoon and today. lol Skyler is loving school and we are adjusting slowly. We still have Shirrie here with us an she keeps us entertained. But boy is it quiet around here! Betty, I can't wait to see the black & white with the pink quilt! That is going to be so striking! Gerda, I would love to see one of those little bras. What a project for a man to choose! Dorian, is Carson your son or grandson? How old is he? It sure is a lot of fun to play with them on the computer. Skyler and Jacqui would send each other lots of smilies on yahoo. I also have lots of game links saved if he is big enough to start using the mouse by himself. Pat, I sure hope your machine gets better quick. I wonder if KimUK has a saint that we can pray to for machines. I still haven't sewn on my new machine. Seems I'm obsessed with watching the Olympics every night. It is out of the box and ready to thread. I'm hoping to have some time for it on Sunday.
