Morning all, I am rather groggy this morning. It was a wild night! DS1 called me at 9:30 last night. 9:30...... on the Pacific Coast! It was just about 2:00 a.m. when I hung up with him.
Then DS2 woke me up when he came in from a party. One of his friends is moving to Arizona or Colorado or Nevada, some where out there. So somebody whose parents have a swimming pool invited everyone over for a bon voyage party. As hot and sticky as it has been here, I am sure no one wanted to get out of the water!
Then one of the animals decided there was some tantalizing smell emanating from the waste bin in the kitchen -probably wrappers from Arby's where DS2 and one of his friends had lunch. So that was strewn across the kitchen floor along with the 'crash' of several clean empty jars and tins waiting to go out to the recycling bin. Don't know what those crazy cats were doing Last night, but they also knocked down the two jars on the windowsill over the sink where I am rooting some cuttings!
Then Steve's asthma started to bother him so instead of turning on the light to look for his medicine, he grabs the flashlight by the bed in case the power goes out. Of course, he makes just enough noice to rouse me and the beam from the flashlight reflects off the mirror and catches me in the eye. Now I am totally awake and totally freaked! Who uses a flashlight inside a house in the middle of the night unless they are NOT supposed to be there?!?!?!? Yeah,...... I think we are being burgled!
Needless to say, it was a rather short night!
Jacqui, now that we all have our sweet tea or lemonade in hand, (Pat, are there cookies, too?) when are you going to tell us about Greece?
Jenell, sorry about the kidney stone. I hope you are feeling better. Couldn't you have found something better to get for your birthday? Diamonds? A new Mercedes? I'm ducking!
Dee, when you have all that organized, how 'bout coming for a visit and helping me?
Awww ... Meg ... after a night like that I think I woudl have wanted to pull the quilt back over my head for the day ...
although I had a very similar one the night before last ... including a call from a kiddo at 2:30 in the morning ... followed shortly thereafter by an unexpected visit ... they always know where home is, don't they? ...
Pat

Oh save me a bowl of ice cream please! At least till I use up these antibiotics. No dairy? What are they thinking? I guess I'm really pretty lucky because I don't have the severe pain that everyone is talking about. Must have passed the stone before I went to the doc, she put me on some meds to help it along just in case. It feels more like a kidney infection to me.
Meg, my dogs cornered a possum in my flower bed just under my bedroom window last night! Oh my, what a ruckus that was!
Anyway, once again, I hope to just sew all weekend long! If I can get 2 more UFO's done I will be happy and starting something new and wonderful!
Yesterday was our town's 50th anniversary. There actually was a community here much longer than that, but it was the last vestiage of the original township. They incorporated only to keep from being annexed by any of the neighboring towns.
Most of the family-friendly activities were directed at families with young children so we did not go, but last night Steve and I went over to the city hall and sat on the lawn for an outdoor showing of "Grease." They had a giant inflatable screen set up in the parking lot. It was lots of fun, a little breezy, but that kept the mosquitos away.
Only thing, I woke up with a sore throat. It was down in the low 70's and with the breeze, I wished I had a jacket. Hope I didn't get a chill; as miserable as I am in this hot sultry weather the only thing worse would to be sick and miserable.
Good Morning! Sunny and hazy right now. but we have had lots of thunderstorms rumbling through the past few days ... suspect late today will be no exception. Of course, my DS2 was camping in a tent again last night ... seems to always happen to him when he is sleeping out ...
Jenell ... that comic was cute ... I like "Pickles" ... my DH is always showing me this one from the paper ...
Meg ... sounds like a fun way for your community to celebrate .. hope you did not catch a summer bug ... I had one awhile back and they are no fun at all ...
Well ... I have to get on with my day here ... we are headed out for the day in a few minutes ...
Pat
