From the maps I saw, it apprears to have to have hit in the area where Kansas, Oklahome and Missouri come together. Jennell lives in Ripley, between Tulsa to her east and Oklahoma City to her west. The tornado came down northeast of Tulsa.
I am willing to bet there are lots of high tension lines down, which could be interrupting their power and may be the reason she is not on.
Dorene lives west of Oklahoma City. I am taking that as an indication that she and her family are safe. No news is good news.
Sending prayers out that members of our BC family are safe and sound. Prayers for those families that have been affected in any way by this devestation.
I'm here and safe! Sorry ya'll, I didn't even know about them till I got home from the zoo tonight. The town hit was in the very N.E. corner of Oklahoma. I don't think we have anybody from BC there. But some of them might have family there so it's still a concern. I am in Lexington which is just south of Oklahoma city. We weren't touched at all by this one. Jacqui you are so sweet to worry about us like this. I happen to live in an area close to a river, and indian legend says that any tornadoes that come our way tend to get stuck in the track of it and carry it off in another direction. I don't know if it's true or not but we have never had a big one in this area. So I'm sticking with that legend! But the house next door has a cellar that we can all run for if needed. So no more worrying young lady!!! Six people did die in this one so lots of prayers are needed. Our red cross is always quick to be on the scene with food, water, blankets and shelter of some kind.
ok Jenell its great to know you have a bolt hole if you need one Now I can breath a sigh of relief although it has to be said tinged with sadness for the deaths of so many people God Bless and keep them. Jacqui

I'm happy to hear you're safe and well Jennel. When I heard about the devastation of the tornado I Google Mapped its location and found that Dorene lived someway off but I didn't know whereabouts in Oklahoma you live Jennel. I did read that there had been 34 tornadoes reported in 3 states. Very frightening stuff. Sending my prayers for everyone affected.
