Betty wanted to start a new thread for this month so here goes:
Lovely day here in Michigan. The boy down the street has one more year of school so he and DS2 want one more hurrah before school starts. I will go boil potatoes for potaro salad as soon as I am done here, and I might even break down and make them a chocolate cake. They are going to grill hamburgers for dinner tonight.
My phone rang rather late the other night, about midnight. I was annoyed because I thought it was one of DS2's friends- none of whom have any concept of time. Turns out it was DS1- he was calling to let me know they had finally arrived back at port.
They had been in Bellingham, WA getting a new prop put on the cutter. That in itself was quite an adventure from what I hear! They had two false starts to get underway, once for something mechanical and once because of a fire. He certainly is getting an education in a hurry!
Hope everyone who is celebrating or traveling this holiday weekend stays safe and healthy. Praying for those in the path of Gustav and Hannah. Sending hugs to those that need them. Thinking about all the rest of my good friends on BC.
Oh my goodness, where is everyone? Good morning Meg, it's just you and me for now.
I spent the weekend laying on the couch mostly. My back is hurting again and I know it's still my kidneys. I have an appoitment tomorrow and hope they can give me a straight answer this time.
I did finish my last 4 squares on the big brown quilt. Now they are layed out on the floor and I hope to get it in rows soon so I don't have to look at it forever! I am so sick of this one!
Gosh life is just getting crazy around here. We are so busy at work and Joey is coming in October so I have much to do before he comes in. Matt and Katrina will be coming the first of November too. Looks like I better get busy cause next month is going to get crazier!!!
Good afternoon everyone. Had a busy labour day weekend. Set up Fri for an outdoor craft show, then did it Sat and Sun. It was OK but down from other years. But happy with what I did. Went to a fair yesterday and then out to nephew and his wifes for supper. Today putting everything away from craft show. Tonight DH taking me out for a meal at a chinese buffet for my birthday. Take care everyone. grandma j
You be careful- the weatherman said last night that there are more fatalities from flooding and tornadoes caused by hurricanes that by the actual hurricanes themselves.
Went to see the chocolate exhibit at Greenfield Village today.
Good Morning Everyone, Today is going to be a good day for sewing. The clouds have come in. So we may get some rain. Ever since I broke my foot back in November, when the weather changes, my foot hurts in that area. So I put the blue boot on. Seems to help. I had planned to clean the kitchen today. But instead I cut out pieces of fabric I need for the mystery quilt I am working on. Is anyone else doing the Row by Row with the Inspector's Club? Well I better get cleaned-up. It is already midmorning. Trina

Good Morning Girls! How is every one today? I just got back from the dr and am pleased to know that my kidneys are just fine! Yeaaah! I was getting worried and imagining all kinds of things. I just have a bit of arthritis in my lower back to go along with some in my neck. Who would ever think that this news would make me happy!!! They gave me some new steriods and the pharmacist told me I would be feeling great by tomorrow! I am so excited!
So I bought a house with my nephew and have to pay for it in 90 days. No big deal. LOL We already have a buyer for it so as long as they hold up thier end we will be okay. Maybe I should post this in the prayer thread! lol
Jacqui Deeeeaarrrr! I see you but I can't hear you!!!!!!!!!!!
Pat, how is that machine humming along? I saw your fabrics and they are gorgeous! I love that batik you have.
Trina, enjoy your cutting.
We lucked out on the rain and it just scraped us. I am so glad!!! Bless those that are having so much water!
The newly repaired sewing machine is humming along nicely ...
