Good morning Ladies, Glad to hear you are having fun at the nut party. lol It's been beautiful out here in sunny California I love this time of year..what with apples and pumpkins being harvested, fresh lettuce and spinach growing, roses blooming. Everything is happy after the intense heat of summer. I've been playing with my fabric, making a Frayed Sawtooth Star quilt. Well, it's going to be a mix and match quilt, the Stars are going to frame the round robin blocks we did...at least I THINK they are. We'll see if they go well together when I'm done with the stars. We've started school too, so that is keeping us busy and lots of work outside going on too. Just wanted to pop in and say hello. Have a great day all. Dorian

Hi, just popping in to let everyone know that I haven't disappeared. It's been a real zoo around here for the past couple of weeks. We've been away from home most of the past week and now I'm playing catch up. We left home last Sunday morning to take our golf cart to my son's house, about 5 hours away. The motor was smoking and since it's a motorcycle engine and he started out as a motorcycle mechanic, he said that he would rebuild it for us. So, we loaded it onto the utility trailer, hitched it up to the pickup truck and headed off Marietta, GA, a northern suburb of Atlanta. Instead of heading back north and home, we headed east, to Raleigh, NC, about an 8 or 9 hour drive. Stayed with DH's Aunt Betty while we were there. One day we went about 90 miles further east to check on some BBQ grills that DH is having built. The rest of the time we went with Betty to the old home place and farm about an hour away. Since her DH passed away in August, she is completely responsible for several hundred acres of cotton, tobacco, soybeans, sweet potatoes and ??? Her DH was the kind that never let her know anything about his financial dealings so she is having to learn in a hurry about these things. That's part of the reason she wanted us to come see her. My DH is her DH's nephew and they were raised together like brothers as they are only a couple of years apart in age and my DH knows more about the farm since he was raised on it. I did get to see the house where he grew up and meet some of his old high school friends and hear some tall tales about how they carried on back then. We got home Friday, about 8 hours. The western part of NC is really having a problem with a gas shortage, but we were ok and made it home without any problems. Now, I've got to get the dining room and my computer room/office cleared out tomorrow so I can disconnect the computer and move all of the furniture out so we can have new flooring installed. I'm looking forward to the new floor, but not the mess. And, since the only high speed computer connection I have is in the office, I'll be off line from Monday evening until sometime Wednesday evening. Oh well, maybe I can get some sewing done then. I'm going through withdrawal as I haven't sewn a stitch in well over a week. Hugs to all, Barb Mcf
