Let me tell you, those steroids work fast!!! My goodness I am so surprised! Had to get some benadryl to go with it because I look sunburned now, but I don't even care cause all the pain is just a twinge now! Woo HOOO!!! Even went shopping with hubby for Shirrie's second birthday. Of course all the little girls got something. And Toys R Us was happy to have us! LOL Tomorrow is grand parents day at Skyler's school and I thougt Bill and I were going to have to flip a coin to see which of us could go but he was a dear and said I could! Big Grin Better remember to charge my camera. I bet he won't be so nice next time. Wink I finally get to meet her new best friend Robbie with the red hair. Too cute!

Meg you sure have been quiet lately. What are you up to I wonder. Hmmmm........... Maybe we are about to see some pyramids coming together? Did you save me any chocolate?

Pat, I'm so happy you have your machine back! I can hear it humming from here! I can't wait to see your mystery quilt.

Well I better get myself to bed. Hubby went an hour ago and I just had to stay and browse a while longer. Good night.

Sorry, Jenell, I am not deliberately ignoring you. The dentist has not been able to do anything will this tooth yet, except to prescribe antibiotocs and painkillers. Let's just say I have not been my usual charming self lately, and am keeping a low profile. It's nice to know I am missed, though, makes me feel better.

I haven't done much with the pyramids, sad to say, except to keep trying out new ideas. Somehow I got sidetracked into cleaning (perish the thought!) the drawers and totes where I store fabric. They were so very disheveled, and some things were even in the wrong place. My focus lately is gathering together enough 30's prints to finish my yo-yo quilt.

We have had two days of day-long news coverage of the removal/resignation of the Detroit mayor. Took me back to college and watching the Watergate hearings! Only this time, instead of do homework for my art class in front of the TV, I cut circles from all my 30's prints. This should make between 60 and 75 blocks, if my estimate is right. The blocks are small- about 8" and I haven't calculated how many I will need. The important thing is that I have them sorted into baggies with needles and thread, so they are handy for trips in the car or sitting in the doctor's office.

Gustav has arrived in Metro Detroit. We've not had much rain to speak of. I woke up about 5:30 and the wind has blown steadily; and not a little gentle breeze, either. It is now almost 9:00 a.m. here and the sky is quite gray and overcast. I still have lights on inside the house; too dark without them.

Hope all our friends are safe and sound from the storms. Do check in and let us know how you are faring.

Have a great day all.

Meg

sorry about your tooth...I have lived a life time with dental issues, so I understand...

I should have some 30's fabrics packaged and ready tog o this week-end. I am leaving it up to you entirely what you want to send back..(and honestly, you don't have to send anything, Ia m just glad to help!!) could you PM me your mailing address please??

we have had rain and wind for two days now...should make for a wet and wonderful Fall.

Frankly, I think Kwame was an embarrasment to the whole state of Michigan..and painfully so for Detroit. what a shame, he seemed so young and full of ideas at first. Glad he is going...some people just cannot deal with having power...

Debbie-

Thank you so much for helping, I am sending you a PM with my address.

I was so sorry that Dennis Archer did not run for re-election. I totally agree with you on the Kwame issue. He was too slick for my taste from the get-go. When he first got into office, he did seem to be doing some good for the city, but his demeanor never impressed me. Hopefully, a page has been turned and the citizens of Detroit and the citizens of the suburbs can work together to restore a little dignity to the region.

I remember you saying you had cleaned out your scrap basket. You want to know a secret, Pat? I have been anticipating the mail for several days now, just like a kid on Christmas eve! LOL
Can you believe how excited I get about fabric? My family thinks I am looney! LOL

I have good news ladies! My son has recieved his G.E.D. He had dropped out of high school due to illness. I wanted him to go to night school, but he was so convinced that he was not a good student that he was hesitant to try. He finally was able to go take the tests and he passed with flying colors. The results and the certificate both arrived today- I think he was totally surprised by how well he did. I always knew he had it in him.
