I've started a new NHGC thread in here for the quilters from the old club too! It's up in the more formal introduction area.

I'm soooooo happy! We can still chat away, and who knows...some of you might even drag out your sewing machines and get to sewing again!!

You may also see a few names pop up as I'm going to invite a couple of my real life quilter friends in too. They are hilarious. Cinda will drag her feet, but I'll work on her! She's seriously funny, but just not a bad computer geek like the rest of us!

Ok...I'm going to be counting noses REAL SOON. Get in here! Mark this to your faves! At least we can go back to our infamous morning coffee chats eh?

Carl slept away most of the afternoon, but as soon as he got up he uploaded the programs...and got me going.

Not a whole lot is going on here tonight, is it? WAWA must be off haveing fun instead of hanging out in cyber world. I'm just about done, my own self. All the gardening i did tonight just about whooped me.

Lady G, what a drag your news is It doesn't seem fair, does it. And i don't think you should wait until September to be looking for a new job. I'm sure the fact that you were one of the higher paid people there was a factor in choosing who would stay and who would go. Still, you are a very talented and active person, i think that there is a better job out there with your name on it, and this could be the silver lining to that nasty cloud. Good luck, and may the force be with you.

DB, what a bummer about the condition of you SF house. Still, y'all were able to salvage something out of it. Were the family pictures able to be saved or had they been on the ground for too long? Your brother is going to have alot to answer for on the other side when he has to explain himself to the Lord, isn't he. I sure hope that the bones of the house are still in good shape. All the rest is cosmetic, and can be fixed. Plus too, the new owner is bound to put his own imprint on the place, so i'm athinkin' that alls well that ends well.

Linda 99 more reasons to kick some familial butt. . . . give em heck, girlfriend. It seems to me that the adults have some waking up to do. The thickest skin in the world is on young adults and sometimes you have to harsh to get thru it. I know the frustration of working all day to come home to a pig sty and a bunch of "who me? it wasn't my turn!" It used to drive me nuts. That's probably why i am in no hurry what so ever to have the little darlins' move back in. Hang in there, my dear, and stick to your guns. It is YOUR house and they are not carrying their share from the sounds of it.

Just woke up in the middle of the night after a bad dream. Went thru the house turning things off. So read up in here. I got to see a hummer at Paula's house last Mon. She has her feeder in her new window they just had put in. So when setting at the dinning room table you see them. There was a window there before this is a better one and it keeps some of the sun glare out. Well back to bed for me.

Mornin! It's hot and humid out already. I've been up cleaning and waxing my bike. Think I've already sweated a pound or two off!

Boy…does it feel great to be back on my computer. This thing is moving like a race horse too…so there is always a silver lining! Carl did a great job of saving my files. I had lost my little weather service icon, but it’s allll back now! I’m a wannabe weather girl…losing that was a BIG deal…lol!

What you did for MamaK kids is OFF THE CHARTS for cool! I hope they take that to show and tell! I don’t know what made you think of that…but… I think that was one of the neatest things I’ve ever seen! Toooo funny about the poundage of fix-it parts going up on the shuttle. I thought Super Glue fixed everything??..lol Great pics all the way around! I probably shouldn’t TELL you this, but it’s 49° and we JUST built a fire…lol I have a bad feeling about this summer. Hey…I’d be taping “eviction notices” up on those bedroom doors. I think you’ve been saying “please” plenty long! Have a safe fun bike ride!!

Well……..I’m not 100% sure this isn’t some little nagging cold. I dunno…I just know it’s been quite awhile since I’ve had to “drug up” to be able to breathe. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow…so I sure hope I’m not dragging. We have to take the car back in for all sorts of things. Gee….we will be STUCK in massive shopping and great restaurants for 8+ hours..pitty…lolol You were up and out by 5 am…YUK!!! Hope your days goes fast. I do love thunder bumpers…but… breathing seems to be a priority. What a bummer about your dental expenses. Man…it’s always something dragging down our finances!

I learned something from your question. I had no clue you could save that chunk of Begonia by water rooting it. I’ve only grown Begonias once…and loved them. I’m glad you asked that question. They are too brittle for my current location. The winds can just beat the life right out of them. Were you asking about tuberous Begonias or the houseplant Begonia?

That sewing machine is almost 100 years old. I think the maker’s plate has MM engraved on it? Do you know him?..lol Nah…it’s not that old, but I wish I could ask my mom WHERE it came from. They were very poor back then…and I just have no clue how she came into it. It’s a dandy. My dad raised and trained German Shorthairs back then…maybe he traded a pup for it. Now..my neice spotted it and she wants it. I had to remind my sis that I shouldn’t have to tussle with my niece over something that belonged to my mother. Not to mention she doesn’t even sew. Sheezzz… one interesting thing that has recently cropped up re the SF Estate. My bro’s slime ball attorney sent an intense letter to the estate attorney demanding a financial accounting because of a HUGE $$$ discrepancy…well……DUH…it was the amount paid to the real estate agent who sold the place, and yes….it was a huge amount. Then…the moron fires off a round 2 letter demanding a full accounting of the estate. One of the things agreed upon and SIGN “on the dotted line” UPON in that last grueling mediation was that all siblings agreed to accept the acting executors accounting which had been presented to the courts in 2006. Oh…and… we all legally agreed there would be no more legal actions taken against the estate, or any beneficiaries. I told ya…this high powered attorney was older then Moses…and he’s FORGOTTEN the very things he got my brother to agree to. It’s nuts. It’s not 100% over…but its lots closer to being over. I sense my bro has a couple more rattlesnakes up his sleazy sleeve, but I’ve already alerted my sis and she’s fired a letter off to the estate attorney. I hate this crap more then you could possible know. If you caught any fish…then you had a good time which is the main purpose of fishing… yes??

I love that AV site…but try to stay out of it. I have two plants starting to build buds that are marked UNK. So…it will be fun to see the blooms. I have no idea what colors they may be. They were mystery leaves…hehe Have we seen photos from your auction scores yet? I may have missed them when my computer crashed.

Ok…I’m corn-fused. I had it in my mind that Pat was asking about the other kind of Begonias? The tubers? My little Angel Wing start is doing very well!! But that’s not the way a tuberous Begonia does its thing…is it? S’pose we should ask Pat…WHICH type of Begonia she was talking about or maybe I just missed that. I about spit coffee out my nose with your “MM..Liar liar pants on fire vs cold beer” wise crack. That was seriously funny! The photos were tossed all over indoors…so that was good. That old house is built on native soil…and she’s got major great bones. It’s been through a multitude of large earthquakes and there were very minor cracks in the cement…and only a hairline crack on the chimney. I hope who ever renovates it leaves my uncle’s brick BBQ in there. That was soooo much fun…and wayyyyyyyyyyy ahead of it’s time!

As the old saying goes…”You can’t pick your relatives, but you can SURE pick your friends”. I have no DOUBT my parents have been rolling over in their graves over this entire fiasco!! My brother betrayed every ounce of trust they ever put into him. Bachelor buttons appear to grow like WEEDS…lol Hope the shower was a huge success.

Very pretty colors on the T-dye! They did a whole deal on my quilting shows yesterday about hand dying fabrics for quilt squares using the MICROWAVE! It’s soooo tempting, but I’m not taking on one more project.

Soooo..it is NOT a beautiful day here, but I have GOT to get out and putter when it warms up a little. Gee…we’re up to 50° now…lol As long as it doesn’t rain it’ll be all good! I didn’t make it by the nursery by the airport because we decided to meet my dd and Aidan for lunch. It was fun…and as always…we had some great laughs!

Off for now… I think I hear a good breakfast calling…

HOLY COW! Universal Studios is going GOING UP IN FLAMES RIGHT NOW!!!

Morning all, its been a big few days here and I'm utterly knackered. Nothing a months sleep or a week in Tahiti wouldn't fix I'm sure. I spent the afternoon at my Uncle's 70th birthday party and it was a beautiful celebration. I went by myself but it was a family function so it was a lot of fun. My Aunt and Uncle have recently moved house and they have done wonders with their garden in a very short time. The soil at their house is essentially limestone based beach sand but they have brought in a lot of soil and done a lot of work. I wish I'd taken photos of it to share with you all. I keep forgetting how different our gardens are to yours!

I have managed to load some more photos of my place though.
