It feels kinda funy, no teen-agers anymore, (but yet I am grateful) those of us who have raised teens will understand! I thought ya'all might get a kick out of some family pics. it was 86 degrees here yesterday..kind of sstrange for October 6th. on her sixteenth birthday it snowed!! (Michigan is notorious for this)
hope you enjoy!!

So, your little chicks have flown the coop! That makes you an empty-nester. Lucky, lucky you! Think of what it means! Lots of hot water when you want to take a bath! And no wet towels on the floor to pick up first! No dirty dishes in the sink when you get up anymore 'cuz someone was hungry after a late night out! No empty milk carton in the sink before breakfast! No more heated discussions about homework, clothes, music, friends, or where the family is eating out! "I don't like that restaurant!" You get to be mistress of the TV remote, and you can actually hear it because there is no one to storm off and sulk by turning up the volume on the stereo. Time to start enjoying being "the lady of the house" and not just the maidservant!

Well, Debbie, between this news and the property on Lake Huron, you're really making it hard for me to keep the green-eyed monster at bay! LOL I am very happy for you, you've given me hope that I might make it to an empty nest, too (without going to prison in the process!) In my house, "Two more years!" is not a political endorsement! LOL

BTW, your little "chicks" are both quite lovely. You did good work, Mama! Big Grin

Wow, the time, she sure does fly! Twenty already! My baby turned 29 this summer!! I couldn't get a really good look at the pics, because when we moved back in January,my monitor got bumped and I have a large blotch in the upper left corner of the screen. Sure plays havoc with things! But they are lovely girls, Debbie! Congratulations on her birthday!!! Smile

Meg, the time will go faster than you now think, and you may one day realize, boy, I wish they were still home - EXCEPT for the 1/2 hour showers!!!! I miss my boy's hugs - he was big on hugging his mama!! Now I get big long ones when I do see him. And it's so quiet in the house without them. We have gotten so used to Tania and the girls being here every Saturday evening, night and most of Sundays, that the odd time they are not here, Bill and I barely know what to do! It's too quiet!!! And as for stereos, Shaun didn't turn up his stereo - no, it was the computer for his fantasy games, and racing games. The number of times I had to stomp on the floor!!!

Enjoy them while you have them (even if you sometimes have to grit your teeth), they are too soon gone and on their own. I feel for parents whose children take jobs far away. I know sometimes it can't be helped, but it's hard when the grands start coming. We moved out here when Tania was a baby, and it must have been hard on my Mom. I know it was on my DMIL. Bill was the only one of her eight children to leave the country!

ANyway, enough of my blathering!! Have a good day!

Gerda

Hey Debbie

Beautiful pictures. I know how you feel. My baby turned 20 last May, the day before his big brother graduated from college. Talk about getting hit with it!

Gerda, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I miss my boys. DS2 is an awesome hugger and its hard to go for months without one Frown

Your girls are beautiful. congratulations on her turning 20. Thanks for sharing with us.

My girl will be 30 in 15 days and my son turned 25 in May so I know what it's like to have them all grown up.

It can be sooooooo nice to have the house to yourselves again. Less housework too! Big Grin those little perks add up! Cheer

Happy Quilting!

I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.
