I have only been frog gigging in the day time...no thanks to going at night and carrying the flash light!!! HA
Not sure this guy/gal knows a cow from a bull...horns on bulls only!!! hahaha
Happy Quilting! Bama Deb ~ Sweet Home AL I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.
Why thank you dear Cindy! I did read a little bit the other day on frog gigging, and then on snipe hunting and on toward cow tipping. For a while I thought they had nothing to do with animals, and realized they ALL had to do with animals! No wonder you ladies asked what I did as a child! Well, since I did not grow up in this country, I had other activities growing up. I used to spend all my summers as a child in the country where my grandparents and an uncle lived. My uncle and his family were renting a duplex from a family. This family's father (a grandpa) raised gamefighting roosters. Every morning, I spent time with him grooming the roosters. They also lived near a big field where I caught dragonflies. The only animals I really "tortured" were flies, spiders and June beetles. I cannot throw a gunny sack over a snipe, spear a frog (I was told that if I touched a frog I would get warts!) nor be behind any cow or horse, for that matter! But thank you for this piece of info...Hope we get another blast tomorrow at trivia!

tata, i was raised in town also - i've never actually done any of these either - just know about them is all. my brother "promised" to take me snipe hunting once until my daddy found out what was going on and made him "renig" on his promise! lol it was still several days before i found out what the big deal was about snipe hunting LOL
ok now to think of something for tomorrow night! assuming i can connect that is - we get a little storm (yes we finally got some rain!! YEAH!!!) and my internet seems to have a hard time connecting - me & bellsouth gonna have a heart-to-heart today about that modem - i can't miss trivia!!!!

We could always discuss rum-running and moonshine! Know anybody with a still? Al Capone and the mob used speed boats and duck blinds along the Detroit River to run liquor from Canada destined for Chicago speakeasies during Prohibition.
ooo good topic!! lol while i've never seen an actual still - there were several rumored to be located in and around the rural community where billy grew up and where we lived for the 1st 20 years of our married life!
now a friend of mine in thay same community had a neighbor on the back side of her property that was growing a rather large crop of marijuana and the narcs accessed his field through her property to seize the weed - we could discuss that . . . i do remember hearing the helicopters all over the community the day the law enforcement "discovered" the field . . . many, many moons ago . . .

Just last week my DH, Roger and I were in an antique store and saw a "gig" for frog gigging. I can remember my dad doing this when I was little in Southern Iowa. He quit after he actually saw them being cooked...the legs "jump" in the skillet! Jami
