Good Evening, all,

Just got home from the Boston Spring Flower Show and, as always, it was just glorious.

I took some pretty good photos and I will try to get some onto my picture site, soon ... as soon as one of my kids helps me to load them onto my computer. For a gift last December, my DH gave me a nice slide-show picture frame and I have the memory card loaded in there now and I am looking at the pretty flowers, again ... now if only there was a way to bring that lovely, moist, fragrant air home, too.

I did bring home a couple of new house plants, some pussy willows and dried flowers for an arrangement, some lavendar to make my house smell wonderful and several packets of perennial seeds for my garden. I cannot wait for spring to bloom here.

I found a lovely gift there to send to a very good friend I have recently made for the month of March, too ... Pat

My sister came to visit for a few days (since Wed.)...left just before 11 am...It was nice being together again "just for fun" -- any time together over the last few months was spent with people in hospital and dealing with funerals!

ALLLL of my memory quilt blocks are CUT -- and I'm sewing <can't you see me doing the happy dance!?>

Had a tree down across our road (semi-private road, we were first ones out) this morning, so had to take care of that before DS1 could get to work...fun stuff!

DS2 got offered some yardwork for tomorrow, so I'll be taking him there to earn a bit of spending $...

DH goes back to work tomorrow after having a week off...and of course I have mixed feeling about it, LOL!

Well, guess I'll go piece some blocks!

Good Morning, Good Morning! Am I glad to be at work today! We got the houses moved after each one being stuck for a couple of hours and all the furniture back in. The power and water work so all is well! My sister will be in tonight so we can start on Joey's house. We have to paint it all inside and clean up the yard so it's all nicey nicey for an appraisel. Boy, our realatives are really working us this month!
Haven't had a minute to work on quilts but hopefully that will change by the weekend!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I am taking a tea break here and stopping in to see how all my BC friends are today.

It is cool and breezy and fair here today. I have one of the windows open on the south side and the air smells earthy and nice. The tulips are inching up. The bushes and trees are showing buds and the maple tree has tiny red tips. So we will have flowers and leaves here soon. I got out in the yard and did some more clean-up today. I am enjoying these signs of early spring.

Now I have some time to sew ... so that is where I am going now ...

Today has been wonderful

I've got several of my 9 patches sewn & cut into 1/4s for the Disappearing 9 Patch...I sew about a dozen blocks, then cut 'em, that way I have a bit of variety in the activity & I can stay working at it longer...

It was a gorgeous day today! We've got the door open for a nice breeze...we heard & saw several groups of geese fly over. My plum & pluot trees are now blooming - yesterday there were only buds

DS2 worked 3 hours at his yardwork job today; they asked him back on Wednesday to do another task & next month to help turn the soil in their raised garden beds...He's got 3 Scout camps this summer to save $$ for, so this is great timing!

Tomorrow, I'm going with 3 of my friends to clean a recently widowed woman's house ~ she used to go to our church, but I don't remember ever meeting her. She asked one of the ladies that is going tomorrow if she could "round up" a few gals to come & help ~~ I guess she's been pretty overwhelmed with life during her husbands illness & death (understandable!) so has "let the house go." I'm hoping I'll be inspired to come home & get caught up on some of my own housekeeping! In reality, though, I'll probably just come home and SEW on my blocks

I NEED TO VENT! DH walked out the door this morning only to discover that the pick-up had been vandelized! Someone broke off a mirror, and it is one of those with the molded plastic fittings. With this being a holiday weekend, there is no chance of getting it repaired until next week. Now I've got to make a police report, call the insurance compnay, etc. NOT WHAT I HAD PLANNED FOR TODAY!

OH no Meg!! I'm so sorry. I'm glad it wasn't any worse damage though. The broken mirror is bad enough! I hope the phone calls go smoothly for you.

Oh Meg, don't you just love it when life throws you are curve ball. Sorry that the time you could spend sewing will be taken up with police reports and insurance co. Hopefully the person who did this is having a worse day!!

Yes, me too. I have a patch of iris that is uncovered that I'll have to go sprinkle with something to keep the deer away from chewing it off.

I've had a sad time lately. We just spent the weekend away at one of my dad's brother's funeral. He was 88, so he'd lived a long and happy life. We drove (6 hours) to Saskatchewan Sunday, had the service Monday afternoon and drove home through some nasty snow and rain and fog so it took longer than 6 hours home.

And somewhere one dd and I managed to pick up some stomach flu so we were up close and personal to the toilet shortly after we got home and fell into bed. Thankful for small mercies, I guess, that it didn't strike while we were driving. bleh.
Spent all Tuesday and Wednesday on the couch sleeping, no appetite and a headache.
DD called in sick on Tuesday, but went on Wednesday.

I think I'm back in the land of the awake today. May tackle some housekeeping and do some sewing on some squares I had started last week.

Last night was another of not much sleep - I seem to be sleeping well every other night, so I guess it could be much worse!

Took DS2 to his yardwork job yesterday, then his basketball practice & scouts <Wednesday seems to be Tyler Day>. While he was busy with ball & scouts, I spent a while in the church library reorganizing stuff...it was great to check a few things off the list!

Today, I get to SEW on my blocks! I also "get" to catch up on laundry & muck out my kitchen...you turn your back for five minutes & all sorts of things pile up!

I also want/need to go prune our lilac bushes...I've got 3 to go. They've just gotten soooo much bigger than I would have let them, but when MIL still owned/lived in this house, she didn't maintain them & they have their own minds, it seems So, I just do my best with what I have...DH offered to cut them all down <gasp> and I assured him that was a hasty thought, please don't cut them down, I'll deal with them being big!

I'm so happy Spring has Sprung! I realize we'll get more rain, and possibly even more snow, BUT am concentrating on the beauty of the day!
