A while back, I posted on the blog what my son's school project meant to me. It was an exercise in discipline and creativity, but most of all, I will remember it as one more occasion when my son and I spent time building something together. I will not go into a full engineering discourse on the statics of rigid bodies (which this project was really all about in 6th grade!), rather only to show that with the right design, a bridge made out of toothpicks and Elmer's glue can really take the weight of 2 reams of paper. He gets an A if it can bear the weight of 3 books, a B if 2, a C if one and I guess an F if it cannot sustain even one. I figure that 2 reams of paper will at least get him a B. Below is the product of our collaboration!

That bridge is great and I'm sure your son will get his A. I used to make similar projects using art straws and baloons filled with water when I worked in a special needs school. Those DT lessons were so interesting.
Tata Way to go! It looks great I remember reading about it on your blog, it is always nice to have pics...A plus for sure.
Happy Quilting! Bama Deb ~ Sweet Home AL I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.
