Kat...what if you left off the pleats..and just squared off the bottom so it looked more like a shirt? Maybe use manly flannel?? LOL  maybe you could tweak it to jusy extend the "bodice" so it did not look like a dress??

That is adorable! Am going to show the pattern to my neighbor - she's got a little male chihuahua called Chico. He's a long-haired one so might not need a flannel shirt, but still, winters get pretty cold in Indiana and Chico is getting along in years. They always have at least one or two doggies they get from the Chihuahua rescue center in Ft. Wayne. Nola
