Good Morning ... busy, busy busy ... not much time to post lately ... I shall have to make up for it on the weekend ... It is a gorgeous fall day here ... Dorian ... beautiful bright cheery block! Barb ... conratulations on the new baby ... I have friends that love their Janome sewing machines ... I got to use one once and it worked like a dream ... have fun ! Deb ... when I was trying to print a template that someone sent me once in pdf format that came out too small, my DH showed me a feature in the tool bar where you adjust the size before your print to 100% or "actual size" or something like that ... I will have to go look and see if I can figure it out again ... Jenell ... all is well here, Sweetie, I have just been busier that usual and trying to spend whatever free time I have sewing ... Gerda ... your spring flowers will be so beautiful! Darlene ... now we know you like pretty spring and summer colors ... Denise ... last night late here there was no one online ... ... this east coaster was awake and found no one to talk to ... ... maybe tonight will be different ... well ... time to dash again ... Have a lovely quilty day, everyone ... Jenell- OK,OK... not you...LOL... but must be someone out there knows something about this stuff?????? Just came back from a quilt meeting and they've talked me into starting a Dear Jane quilt... There's a group here that meets once a month to make the blocks. Most people are making the blocks without ever planning on making the quilt. Does anyone ever finish one of these? I think it would be fun just to do all the different patterns but I KNOW I'll never see a completed quilt. Maybe there's a Dear Jane donation center?... for all those started but never used blocks? LOL...IF not, there should be. Well, it looks like Im heading to Grand Rapids tomorrow... Cant wait!... I havent been to a good quilt show in AGES. Just Wendy and I so far... anyone interested????? hmmm???? Pat- I might have to try again... I thought I told it actual size... it was close... just 1/4" off... I HATE COMPUTERS.. at least when they dont do what I want them to do..

Good afternoon ! It was nice here this morning and then it was cloudy and even sprinkled but the sun has some back out. The forecast is for a good weekend. This makes me very happy ... there are many places to go and people to see this weekend. Here is the project I have been making for this month ... Halloween Table Topper ... This was a really fun pattern. Not like anything I have ever made before. I cut a "petal" template out of plastic for the outside fabric ... it is a nice seasonal border print ... You assemble the outside edge, sew on the back with right sides together, turn inside out ... do the quilting around the "petals" ... make the center circle and fuse it ... then I hand-stitched around the edge and topstitched to match the quilting. I want to make this one again someday as giant sunflower ... The pattern is called "Petal Table Centerpiece" and it is by Gramma Fannies Quilt Barn. I bought it at a shop in NH that is not an online shop. When I visit Gramma Fannie's website though, I can only find finished quilts for sale: http://www.grammafanniesquilts.com/product/5690Hmmmm ... I am sure this pattern must be available somewhere online ... Well, the day started off in a not so good way. Had to go to the doctor's office and have blood drawn to test my thyroid levels. They check it about every 4 to 6 months. The last time, about 5 weeks ago, they called and decreased my medication and told me to come back in a month and have it rechecked. At least the girl that did it was really good and I barely felt it. DH and I then went out to breakfast and spent the rest of the day running errands. So, it was another day without any sewing. But, I did get to fondle lots of fabric. One of our stops was at Joann's. I don't get there too often as it's about 50 miles away from my house. I really do live out in the sticks. We also did some grocery shopping before we came home. Took advantage of being able to go to a much larger grocery store than we have here in our small town. I can find the Arizona Pomegrante green tea mix there. I love it and can't get it here. Managed to get the computer printer connected up tonight but the rest of the house will have to wait until next week. We have to make a trip to Atlanta tomorrow. My son repaired our golf cart for us and we have to go pick it up, 5 hours there, a couple of hours visiting, and 5 hours back. Another day gone and no sewing. I think that I'm going to lock my self in the sewing room on Sunday afternoon and not come out until bedtime. Sounds real good to me. I'm trying to get ready to go to a quilt retreat in Alabama on the 10th. It's a small group of friends. My DH's sister and a group that she worked with for years get together twice a year and I'm the resident teacher. Have to get all of my handouts updated and instructions written for a new little tote bag I put together Wednesday. Oh well, it will all come together and we'll all have a good time like we always do. I have a friend in GA that's making the Dear Jane quilt. I'm fighting off the urge as I know that I'll never finish it and I still have a few grandchildren that don't have quilts. Have to do those first. Better go and get to bed. DH wants to leave here by 5:00 am to head to Atlanta. Grrr. I think I'm going to take my pillow and small quilt along and sleep while he drives tomorrow morning. I'll try to check in tomorrow night. Have a good day. Barb Mcf
