Pat I love that! Was is pretty easy? It would be a perfect sunflower! Deb and everyone else that is waiting on a pattern from me, my DIL came up with the same exact scan that I did! So that actually makes me feel better. Except that I know she can fix it and I can't. Barb, I hope your tests come out alright. I don't do 5:00 a.m. very well either. Gerda, drool is right! You should hand out napkins with posts like that!

Pat, I forgot to tell you that I love your Halloween table topper. I've been collecting Halloween fabrics for several years now to make a "king" size quilt for our bed. DH and I met on Halloween eight years ago. So, I want to make us a Halloween theme quilt. Jenell, thanks for the concern about the tests. I'm sure there won't be any problem of any size. It was just to check my thyroid levels as my medication was changed due to a change in the levels on my physical two months ago. Rechecking it to be sure we have the right strength medication. 4:30 came too early this morning and we did leave at 5:00 am, as planned. I did get the coffee pot ready to go last night before I went to bed so I could turn it on when the alarm went off. As we drove off, we had steaming cups of coffee in the cup holders and a small thermos of extra coffee riding along. In spite of that, I did doze off and managed to sleep most of the way there, except when I woke myself up with my snoring. DH just laughed at me when that happened. Going there, it was just us in the truck. On the way home, we were towing a utility trailer with the golf cart sitting on it, and tied down so it wouldn't move around. We decided that we really didn't want to fight the traffic on the interstate so we got off and took the old road home. It was such a pleasant drive, lots less traffic, more interesting things to see, and at a slower pace so we could enjoy the country side. Will have to do that more often. I was so glad when we got home that I had a large container of leftover homemade vegetable beef soup in the fridge. Heated that up for a quick dinner. Now, it's off to bed for me. Have had early mornings just about every day this past week. I'm planning on sleeping in tomorrow morning. Then, I'll spend some time in the sewing room. Hope you are all having a great weekend. Good Evening ... I just had a lovely day ... went to a nearby guild's Quilt Show. What a very talented group of quilters ... they had some very beautiful quilts! Of course, I found a few little things in their boutique that just had to find their way home with me ... a small stack of older quilt magazines (new to me though!) for a couple of dollars, some thread I need for quilting a wall hanging and ... er ... they had these two snowflake fabrics that I had not seen before ... Then we drove to an orchard for another gallon of cider and a bag of apples ... mmmm ... apple pie ... and we ... um ... just happened to pass a quilt shop where I just happened to have one of those cards for free fabric (you know ... the kind you "earn" because you "buy" fabric there} ... ... so, of course, I did not actually PASS the quilt shop without STOPPING ... that would be so rude ... so I just happened to find ... ah ... you guessed it ... more snowflake fabrics ... but, really, I did not have these and they looked so lonely ... well, actually the bolts were almost gone ... could not let that happen could I ... Well after the orchard, we went to dinner at a wonderful little italian restaurant where they make their own fresh pasta and the most delicious sauces, then dashed over to see my DD in her college marching band's first exhibition performance. They sounded great and they have spiffy new uniforms. So it was a very full and lovely day ... Deb ... you are welcome. I am glad I remembered where I saw clear instructions on how to do this ... I could never explain it. Jenell ... it was a fun pattern. The instructions and line drawings are very complete and easy to follow. Once I cut the template, it was easy to cut and sew together the petals. The only tricky part for me was getting the points to lie flat ... but you just have to be sure to clip the extra fabric in the seam allowance ... the instructions show you how to do this ... and quilt it before you sew the center circle on the top. PM me if you want more info. Barb ... thanks for sharing the story of you and your DH meeting ... what a special quilt that will be ... if you do not have the blue Halloween fabric that is in my table topper, I have an extra fat quarter I could send you for your quilt ... Well ... I am getting sleepy here ... goodnight all ... sweet dreams ... Morning all, I've been having a rough couple of days here, so I think I'll take the day off today. I would like to do some sewing, but I broke my needle at my machine yesterday....with my finger It's better today, but I don't know if I'll sew or not. I may just curl up in bed with a good book. We'll see. Pat, I've had to go and look at your pictures again of your cute table topper. For some reason, I thought it WAS a sunflower. Not when I was looking at it, but last night as I was browsing thru a magazine, I saw a sunflower that was made the same way. And I just thought yours was a sunflower too. lol You have done a wonderful job on yours, your points match so nicely! I'm glad you had a nice day! And added more snow to your collection...teeheehee... Barb, I'm glad your trip went well. When we come back from Sacramento, we'll take the old route at times too. We enjoy the slower pace and looking at all the farms and such along the way too. I'm off to get another cup of java and finish my board reading. Have a great day all. Dorian

It must have been a very busy weekend for everyone.... Pat - sounds like you had a very busy weekend, what with watching band exhibitions, orchards and all. Felicia - it's only 8 pm here on the west coast, and according to your posts, you must still be out on your shop hop. Hope you had a great time, and didn't scare off your newbie. LOL. N Deb - your grandma's quilt is gorgeous! Glad you had a good time at the quilt show. It is amazing what some machine quilter's accomplish. Makes my machine quilting look down right primitive! Jenell, glad you got the bees taken care of. Sorry you had to work, but I can guess that central heat will be worth it this winter. Dorian - hope you had a restful day today, and are feeling better. Barb - hope you got lots done in your sewing room today. I managed to finish the baby quilt top, and got my Nov Happy blocks done, and got October's blocks ready to mail tomorrow.

Here you go Pat: http://www.tcastle.com/csoup.htmlHope it helps! Well.. what a great weekend... great quilt show.. went with WendyMi (it was great to meet you WENDY!) and finished a quilt ... one down... I also helped Al paint in the basement and we finished that too! We have a small snack bar that I didnt want to buy countertop for, so I had him build it out of wood and I painted it.... In checkerboard... It's kind of a nascar/ hotrod theme room. Got out my trusty quilting rulers and penciled out the lines... just like quilting with paint!! Denise... You went to an awfully nice show out there... SO MANY QUILTS! Loved all the pictures! Dorian, how's the leg? Hope you're up and around soon. DB-Did you buy much?... silly question... OF COURSE YOU DID Barb-I really dont need to start a Dear Jane either BUT I think I will... besides Jenell says she'll take them if they become orphans in my UFO pile .. AND GERDA- that blue bees fabric is adorable for one of the blocks... may have to order a piece of that. Jenell- I guess Im going to order some of those fabrics from the EXPENSIVE online store... I cant find the brown fabric that I liked in any other place plus you wanted the black and white. Did you order yet? If not ...I'll get hopping on that. I would like a few for my daughter for Xmas. I need to order before I run out of money I would like to make her a hedgehog quilt also... but that's going to have to wait for her birthday... next August. Well, Im off to bed ... Goodnight all!

Good morning! It is good tobe back. I have been MIA for almost a week. Started this thread just before going to bed last week. Woke the next morning only to discover that we had no internet connection. Thought maybe Betty had hexed me with some of her black magic for getting a jump start on October! LOL You remind of a man. What man? The man with the power. What power? The power of whodoo. Who do? You do. Do what? Remind me of a man.....
