Thank you Carson!!! We love happy faces around here! Hugs to you and your family Denise. I know this isn't an easy time for any of you. Hopefully there will be some ease with the new care your mom will be getting. Barb, now we just got Laura unpacked and here you are packing. Who's next? And where is Pat, and Miss Jacqui? You girls are really missed around here.

Well, the big party is over... thank goodness (very large sigh!)... It was a blast but Im exhausted! Grandma said that was the best birthday of her life. We toured northern michigan with the relatives from CA, had long walks in the country to see the colors, played a football game and a baseball game with cousins from all over the US, had a mini foosball tournament (Al is a former Mi State foosball champ), had a birthday dinner at a restaurant on the lake and a big Saturday evening bon fire. It was 4 days of morning, afternoon and evening parties and now Im happy but sooooo tired! It was wonderful to see all my cousins and their children. We could hardly fit in the house... and it seems like most everyone is over 6 foot tall... I think they grow kids taller in the west. After everyone was gone on Sunday evening, Grandma sat down and said she REALLY enjoyed her party, even though she was sick during part of it. She looked around once during the party and said "grandpa and I made all of this... all these wonderful people". She was so happy but she's worn out also. We took her into the doctor today for swelling in her legs. She needs to put her feet up for a few days and rest also. So... the party ended yesterday ... at 7 this morning I get a call from my daughter that lives with me... she was on her way to work at the high school and she hit a deer! Al and I got up and drove about a half mile down the road and there she was, all upset about hurting the deer and smashing her car. Her air bag went off, her front fender is smashed, her hood is crumpled, and both lights are broken. The deer died on impact, broken neck. Her car had to be towed to town ... see if it's repairable. We had a line up of men stopping to see if they could have the dead buck. It was an 8 point buck she killed with the car. I told her I think she got the first 8 pt buck of hunting season... I think bow hunting just started. Anyway, we kept the buck there until after the sheriff came and then gave the deer to a neighbor. My daughter was pretty upset that the deer died, she thought it got away. Her boyfriend said she should have kept the head for him to mount. I would have liked the meat but I have a fridge and freezer full of party leftovers so no room right now. Now I hoping the excitement is over... I would love to spend tomorrow in my sewing room. Pat, thank you for the Happy Birthday wishes for grandma. Denise, I hope start turning for the better for you and your family. It sounds like you and your family are taking good care of Mom. Barb, I've moved about 20 times since I've been married to Al so I know how you feel. It's exciting but LOADS of work. Sounds like you'll have a wonderful sewing room... that will be fun! Al is a terrible packer... he puts fragile stuff in boxes with heavy thing and then just throws boxes around. Things are always getting broken. I try to keep him busy with other stuff so that I can pack the way I need to without interference. Hi Jenell-It wont be me moving next.... I dont EVER want to move again. We are finally getting the house just the way I want it. That's usually when Al decides were moving. But no more... I love it here. Carson- What a bunch of cute happy faces. I've always wanted to push each button and see all the cute guys lined up like that. Thank you! Well, I think I'll put my feet up and read a book... ahhhh..... and have a cup of coffee I'm hoping to have some pictures in the next few days to post here or on my blog to show everyone grandma and her quilt plus my VERY large wonderful family.

Dorian, tell Carson "Thank You" for all of the smily faces. They are cute and happy. Deb, the party sounds wonderful and the fall is a great time to have it. I'm so glad your grandmother enjoyed it. Now both she and you need to put your feet up and rest for a few days. Sorry to hear about your daughter hitting the deer. Just so glad she is ok. The car can be replaced. I don't think anyone around here has got an eight point buck yet either. Muzzleloader season just opened here. I wish I could send DH on a week long fishing trip, hire movers, and throw out a bunch of stuff and get it done before he gets back, but that's not possible. When it comes to packing, he's like a bull in a china closet, clumsy, and never labels anything so we have to go through it all to find something. Oh well, we'll make it through. If you don't hear much from me during the next three or four weeks, you will know that I'm busy, moving. Have a great week, Barb Mcf
