Pat, thanks for the big huggy smile. I needed that. If DH and I survive this move, we can survive anything.

I'm doing a quick check in this morning as it will be extremely late before I get back home tonight. Leaving to go get our flu shot right after lunch then heading to the new town to unload his truck and large trailer into the storage unit, then on to my brothers to take a small freezer to him, then back home. I just hope we are still speaking to each other when we get home.

Have a great day. I'll check in sometime tomorrow.

Good morning Quilters! I wish I had something quilty to report today but I'm still doing the super clean, getting ready for a visit from my son and his new family. What amazes me is how much I'm missing my sewing machine. It used to be my worst enemy but now, with the help of this site and everyone here, it is now a very dear friend. Wink

Barb, it sounds like you two are very organized about the whole moving thing. You will have to reward each other with some special time out when it's all said and done. (When you start speaking again) Wink

Sherry, what's on the agenda today? Is it a big quilt or some darling little project?

Deb, how's Grandma doing? I'm thinking of her often and hoping for good news soon. My great grandmother lived to 103 and she was my inspiration to start quilting. I didn't get to learn from her but that doesn't even matter now. I feel like she watches over every quilt. Probably has a lot to say too! LOL

Pat and Jacqui, big hugs girls, sorry I have been so busy lately but I'm still here!

Glad to see you back Meg!

Well, off to scrub a bathroom, Roll Eyes

Hi all!
Well, Grandma has been moved to a nursing home for a week or two to recoup. She wants out of there pretty bad so she's just about running down the halls with her wheeled walker. She told me today that she feels VERY strong. She wants to come home and I told her she will as soon as the doctor says its ok. She says she cant take the lady that they put at her table to eat with her. I guess the woman is in bad pain from a hip fracture and she moans and cries constantly. I feel really bad for some of the people and so does grandma. I have tomorrow off... no driving DH or DD and am planning to just sew, sew, sew! I need to get 10 placemats done for meals on wheels... those are due before Thanksgiving and I only have one done.... need to get to work on them.

Jenell- sounds like we have the same grandmother. Mine has PLENTY to say usually and isnt shy about saying it.

Barb-You've got to try the "kiss and makeup BEFORE the move" technique. DH and I used to do that because WE KNEW we'd end up arguing about something. Moving is just such hard work and so stressful. I always worried about what was going to get broken or lost and he always worried about someone getting the new carpet dirty. BUT we just loved those first few days in our new houses. Hope you get time to relax and enjoy it also!

Hi Sherry- WELCOME! I havent had to much time lately to talk with anyone but I wanted to say hi and happy to see you joining us with the happy blocks.

Jacqui- Hopefully I'll be able to relax tomorrow. I really enjoyed my weekend with the family even though we had our problems afterwards. Now I can get back to sewing and chatting... should be fun.

Pat- are you buried in a snow bank? Bet that would be fun with all those beautiful fabrics... ..

Dorian- It was a teary eyed party... Most of the cousins havent seen each other since we were young teenagers. And many had NEVER met! Grandma was just loving all of it though... she was so happy to meet her great grandchildren from CA and Washington. Now we just have to get her up and at it again. The people in the nursing home cant believe that she's 100... they say she looks 80. She sure acts it!

Barb, Denise, CARSON... anyone else I missed... Have a nice weekend!

Take it easy all, I know I will!

Well, it's been a long day! I got so involved in getting my sewing stuff organized again that I didn't get my happy blocks finished, but I am close! And I can find MOST everything that I need for the moment! Cheer

Janell, I feel the same way about my machine! This site has given me a new desire to sew again! In the past I did ALOT of applique t-shirts that I sold to make a little extra money. So even sitting down to my machine was like work there for awhile! But I am really enjoying this site and all the many different projects!

Deb, Thanks for the welcome! Hope your grandma is doing okay after the big bash! And thanks for the pattern! I'm gonna try my hand at that one a little later!

Time to get off here and relax a little before bed! See you all later! Sleep

Checking in this evening, as I will be out of the house before 7 to spend the majority of tomorrow with Mom. it'll be nearly dark by the time I get home. Spent the majority of today out in the yard, mowing, weeding, sweeping, filling bird feeders.

Needed more suet and seed, so I did go deliver the preemie quilt to Don for his tiny Aidan. now 3# 7.9 ounces. He's fighting! They had him off oxygen for nearly 8 hours the other day. He is still only at what would be 31 weeks gestation. They have a long road ahead.

Don couldn't believe I had made a quilt in less than a month. I used the minkie type fleece on the back, It sure felt soft! I anchored the layers together with an asterick type design I did on my machine. I'll post pics later. I also finished the car themed quilt for our friend's grandson this last week. I got my BPS blocks done, and have the centers for my Dec. Happy blocks ready to look for borders.

Long days and nights, didn't get home from being with Mom, until after 11 pm two nights this week, and with working, it makes for long hours. i am slated for two evenings this week as well as tomorrow. Glad I got the laundry about 1/2 caught up.

Good Morning ...

My DH has shared his cold with me and I am dragging a bit this morning and I had a diffcult night sneezing and coughing. We were on the go all weekend and at some point on the late afternoon on Sunday I decided I had had enough and cancelled the rest of the plans and went home to crawl under the quilts.

Think I may go do that for a bit now ... I will be back ...

Take care everyone ...

Pat

Good morning ladies! It's gorgeous here today but a bit chilly.

Milica! I see you girlfriend! How is your leg doing now? Still have a screw loose? lol

Aww Pat, not fair, you just got over one!

Denise, I just love your little quilt. I hope your mom is adjusting well.

Hi Sherry, how did the sewing go?

Only 3 more days till my son gets here from ND. And then his wife and baby follow on election day so I get the countdown on that from the nightly news. Big Grin I did get to talk to Sylvia on the phone the other night. She says she can't wait for me to hold her and meet her Papa!

Good morning,

Hope you are all doing well today. It's a chilly morning here, but supposed to get in the 70s today. Going to be cold this weekend though, with lots of rain. I hear it's going to be a cold winter, and with a lot of you getting snow already, I guess they are right.

Thats great that Aidan is doing so well Denise! I'm amazed at how many friends I know who either had a baby early or a grandbaby came early this year.

I've been working on a quilt called With this Ring. It's from the Benni Harper book series by Earlene Fowler. It's a mix of a double wedding ring and a lone star (I think it's called a lone star) pattern. Plus working on charity quilts on another forum. So plenty of quilting things going on here.

Just wanted to drop in and say Hi. Have a great day all.

Dorian
