The end of the Mayan calendar- we're all meeting at Nola's in Eastern Indiana, where scientists predict we will be safe.

OH, that's right, I remember that conversation now!! I am sure it was a gag article I was reading because they were talking about solving Michigan's economic problems by selling Mi. to Cananda!!!!! Maybe they were referring to the Mayan calendar too!!!!! Guess I better get busy on my "TO DO" list!!!!! Wendy

Well, I am hoping it doesn't take me until 2012 to finish this! I am glad that there are a couple of you who are thinking about doing it, too, in case I have questions. It is a pretty quilt, isn't it? One of my bedrooms is full of cross stitch pictures I've done in soft colors (of quilts, no less, from Paula Vaughan patterns) and I am thinking it would look lovely in there.

beautiful BOM
Well Mount St Helen's erupted on my birthday, the end of the Mayan calendar is 12/20/2012. 12/20 is my son's birthday, have two grandson's born on Fri the 13th....
12/20/2012 is not the end of the world, but the end of the world as we know it and according to the Mayan calendar it started at the end of 1999.

Does anyone know if the center block of the Tulip quilt is the first block that was released? I think it will be a fun one to do, and just didn't want to start on it, and find that the other blocks are already past the "free" status... Thanks for your input.

PatE,

On the website page it says, "The first set of directions will include the fabric requirements and the directions for the center medallion." That would be the center block.

Hope this helps!

PatE, the center block and fabric requirements are the first installment and will be free through July 14. New blocks will be posted on the 15th of each month. I make a note in my calendar and save mine on my computer if I don't have time to do the block right then. That way I don't miss any blocks and can do them at my leisure.

OK thanks for the answers to my question. I think I will keep the directions for this one handy, and possibly make it as a present for my sister's next birthday..... next february....that should give me plenty of time teo finish it.
I am currently working on a kaleidoscope pattern that has been really fun, then I want to do the Somewhere in Time BOM, so I need to get busy and get all my projects done, so I can the Tulip one also.

Have a wonderful week everyone.
